Post-Op experience

Feb 06, 2010

Well it's been a while since I blogged about my surgery. It is now 5 days after surgery. I have felt some queasiness ever since Monday. The first three days were so bad with gas pains, I didn't want to speak or even move. I got up and dressed and walked and stuff, but the pain was still there. Finally Wednesday night, I sat on the toilet for just a few minutes and explosions started! Since then, the gas pains have left, but the queasiness is still hanging around. Makes it hard to get in my protein and water intake. The pain of the surgery itself though, pretty much went away quick. Either that or the gas pain over rid it and just never focused on it. They barely gave me any medicine to take after leaving the hospital so I am going to try to go without any. I feel fine. Still struggling to get in my protein and water, but everyday I am able to squeeze in more and more. I get up and walk around as much as possible, still hunched over from the pull of the scars. My wife did so fantastic with her healing time that I couldn't help comparing myself to her. I am a little behind her, but she did fantastic, so its all good! Well TRUCKS! is on spike right now, so I'm gonna go watch that. I'll keep you posted!

Last Apt.

Sep 22, 2009

Well yesterday I had my last apt. with the 6 month diet thingy. It made me kind of nervous because the doctor that I've been seeing for the past 2 years moved his practice right before my last apt. for this surgery.  Everything was unorganized in my file and not sure he realizes all the paper work he has to fill out for me. My weight was perfect over a 6 month stretch, but the unorganised stature of the whole thing gets me nervous. Escpecially now that I just have to sit around and wait to hear from insurance to see if I am approved or denied. It's all a big waiting game. We'll see!

Last Apt.

Sep 17, 2009

Well I go in for my last weight check on Tuesday the 22nd. Which just so happens to be my wife and I's 2nd wedding anniversary! It didn't take very long to get the 6 months over with. I am very nervous to see how much I weight and to go forward with the next steps to getting the surgery. It's the big approval from the insurance that I am worried about. Other than that, I'm very excited to begin a new journey to healthiness!
