Finally, the process is going! Not scared anymore

I have been so happy lately!!! I first went to an orientation with Kaiser in 2007 in Panorama City, CA and was so scared out of my wits about the surgery. The guy that was running the program also was not very friendly. I have been told that he is no longer in charge of it. .Fast Forward to 2010. I was still afraid of this RNY so bad that I was having real issues with it. One day I woke up and was no longer afraid and I started the referral process that day with my PCP who thought from the beginning this was a great idea for me. I had my referral to the internist within 2 days and was at the orientation in 2 weeks and then enrolled in classes. They got me into the first available class since they knew I had started the process in 2008 and got set back. I am grateful that they got me back in.Now I am in the Options classes and they are 12 weeks. I am really liking the classes as well. I need to lose my 10% and I am hoping that I can have the surgery somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas. My thinking is that some might not want to have it then due to the holidays. I will go in a heartbeat!!!!! I am so ready if they called me now I would get on the table. I am really excited and have my whole family on board with it now. My hubby will take 2 weeks to a month off work to stay home with me. I am happy for that as well. He is being very supportive of all of this! He will also play school Taxi and do the cooking and cleaning and take me shopping as well. I am just so ready to do this....I will write more as I go. I have been in my classes and got my official weigh in on 7/26/10 and I have lost 6 lbs 8 oz since the beginning of class. They do not want us to lose more than a pound or 2 a week at most. So I hope I am on track!
