James Ku

"I saw Dr. Ku speak at support group meetings in Hershey and Chambersburg before my consultation with him, and he struck me as being very nice and very funny. That's hasn't changed since gettng to know him. His office staff, including nurses, PA and dietician have all been very nice and very helpful. I can't think of anything that I don't like about Dr. Ku. He has a structured pre-op and aftercare program, including several dietician consultations, and lots of handouts with information about risks of surgery, pre-op diet and post-op diet. He likes for his patients to be agressive in getting back to normal activity as quickly as possible, and before I was discharged from the hospital, he encouraged me to do pretty much anything I felt up to, after about a week post-op. The required pre-op informational meeting discusses the risks of the surgery, and at one support group meeting he asked some patients to speak - both those who had had an easy time, and one who had had some life-threatening complications that lasted for several months. I was very impressed with him for that. I would rate him as an excellent doctor, who is both very competent surgically and has great bedside manner. "
