I am so happy with the positive changes that have been happening in my life. It has now been almost a month since my surgery and I am doing great. Down 35 pounds since surgery and 54 total. I am really starting to notice the differnce and am loving it.

Hey everyone tomarrow is my big day. I just wanted to take the time and tell everyone thank you for all of the support it means the world to me.

It all begain after a visit to me pcp and was told that if I didn't get my weight under control it was going to kill me. Being 28 and not having seen or experinced life to the fullest. I was not ready to curl up in a ball and die. My next step was to call the Oregon Bariatric Center and enroll in a siminar. After attending the siminar and filling out my application everything seemed to move very fast. The first person I contacted was my insurance provider and thats when I was informed that under no uncertian terms would they cover surgery or any other means of weight loss. ok time to regroup and deside what to do. After consulting with my family my mom stepped up the bat and desided that she would do what ever she could to help. She is my Rock, I don't know what I would do without her. Because I am now a self pay patient it has actualy done away with some of the hoops that others have to jump through for their insurance. My first visit to the center was kind of a shock to me. It has been a very long time since I have been able to step on a scales and the needle not just spin around wildly, so when the scales read 482 I was horrified I realized how close I had came to hitting the 500 mark. I met with my surgeon and it was desided that I need to loss 25 pound before my surgery. I have since lost 17 by watching what I eat the quanity and trying to stick to protein. I have also added in water arobics. Wow I can't belive that I didn't try it sooner. Talk about a rush there are so many exersises that I can do in the water that I would never be able to do otherwise. I have now started me nutrition classes and have a surgery date MAY 23rd I am so very excited.
