Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted, shame on me, well I am now 11 1/2 wks out, I am now down 73lbs, yeah me!!!  I went to see my surgeon on 3/11/08, he wanted me down 26lbs from my last appt on February 19th.  I was down 23lbs, but he was happy with that, he said I was such a special patient, that he wanted to see me back in 1month & down 27lbs., (special, yeah right), he's just trying to keep tabs on me .   I also went to see my PCP on Tuesday, March 18th & Praise the most HIGH GOD, she took me off my blood Pressure medication & weening me off my heart meds, GOD IS GOOD ALL OF THE TIME!!!!!!  In fact my blood pressure has been too low, it was 88/87!!!!  So I just want to take this time to give God PRAISE THANK YOU LORD!!!!!  AMEN

 Well I had my 6wks check up yesterday, I did not post yesterday, because I was still trying to recover from the bad news that my surgeon said to me,  I am down 47lbs since my surgery, Jan 2, 2008, but Dr C told me that I was behind by at least 30lbs, here I thought that I was doing pretty good.  That kinda got me down.  He told me no more protein drinks, no more soft foods, that I need lean protein from Meats.  I also had a appointment w/my PCP, & needless to say, my blood pressure was up (I wonder why????), so yesterday evening was not a good evening for me.  Dr C wants to see me again in 3 weeks & down at least 25lbs.  He wants me to do the treadmill 3times a week at 2.5 miles for 30 minutes, okay he's trying to KILL ME!!!  I told him he sure is a drill sargent!!!!!   Boy, when you think you are doing good, you are not!!!!  So everyone just a quick update,  Remember GOD LOVES & CARES ABOUT YOU!!!!!!  Until next time

42lbs lost, As of 2/02/08 (4wks post-op), Wow!!!!  that's like 10lbs a week.  Sometimes I get a little down & say, I should be loosing more or should have lost 50-60lbs, but then I settle myself down & say, but you have NEVER lost 42lbs, let alone in 4weeks!!!!!!!  But I just wanted to check in to say GOD BLESS YOU & I am doing okay.  Just trying to figure out, what foods my pouch likes & which ones it says no, no, course not!!!!!!!!!  Boy this pouch sure can be testy!!!!!!!  I am starting to try & ween myself off of my protein drinks, before I see my surgeon, Dr C, on the 19th of this month!  I was told my the nutr, that by then I should be off of them.  Sometimes it get's hard trying to get everything in, because I am not hungry!!!!  I have to remind myself to eat & drink!!  Imagine that!!!!!!!!

I am now on an exercise plan, I walk for 30-min on Mon, Wed & Thurs evenings right after I get off from work & I do curcuit training on Tuesday evenings (ouch!!) & low impact aerobics on Friday Mornings.  I rest on Sat & Sun.  Sometimes it gets hard, because I am still carrying 369lbs, but I have to force myself.  I want to maximize this time frame & loose as much as possible.  I tell you what, the exercising is helping me sleep thru the night!! So that's a plus!!!!!!!!!  Well everyone, I must say May the Lord Watch between me & thee While we are absent, one from another-----AMEN!!!!

Hi everyone, just a little update, I had my 2wk post op Dr's Appt, on Thursday, Jan 17, I was down 26lbs.....!!!!!  Dr C said that, that was great, he gave me the okay to start low impact aeurobics, so I will be starting next week, I am back to work (Jan. 22), first week was hard, I was very tired, forgot to set my alarm clock on Wed. night, so needless to say, I was an hour late!!!!!!!!  I was so glad when Thursday, 4:30 came,  I decided I was going to rest this weekend.  I have been kinda in the dumps lately, boy this wls can sure mess with your hormones/emotions.  Some how I'm thinking I'm not loosing fast enough.  Other futher out post op's keep telling me, wait until next month or when you are 2months out, & see how the weight will just be dropping off of you!!!!!  Well I can't weight,  Everyone says they see the loss in my face/neck.  I couldn't see it at first, but now I do.  I think it;s because I look at myself every day, looking for changes!!!!!  I have had soooo many problems with trying to find a protein drink that I can stomach, someone told me about Isopure Protein liquid drink for GNC, it has 40 grams of pure whey protein in it, they have grape, mango, ice tea, pinapple & orange, I just wanted to get a couple bottles, just in case I couldn't stomach it or the smell, but they only had cases, so I got a case of Grape, since that seems to be the only flavor of popsicle & gatorade my stomach can handle!!!!  Not bad, the grape flavoring hides the smell pretty good, I do mix in some crystal light to give it the tarty taste that my pouch seems to like.  I do get sick to my stomach in the grocery store now, my DH had to finish grocery shopping the other day, as all the food smells from the meat dept, deli & of course where they do routissere & fried foods at.  I also get sick when my DH frys anything, usually breakfast sausage/bacon, & eggs.  I sure hope I get past this stage!!!!!  All in all, I would do it again!!!  My knee's don't hurt like they used to (osteo-arthritis)  I am going up the stairs a little faster before surgery!!!!  Thank God!!!!!!  Well enough rambling on!!!  Until next post..........May The Lord Watch, Between Me & Thee, While We Are Absent, One From Another, AMEN!!!!

Came home from the hospital on Sat, Jan. 5, they kept me an extra day because I could not keep down my liquids, I was very sick to my stomach, they thought that maybe it was from the anesthia, but wanted to be on the safe side.  My 1st two days were rough, when I came out of surgery, I thought I had been hit by a Mack Truck, had a lot of pain.  I thought "God what have I done to myself", Dr C & Kathy, kept telling me, give it a couple of days, get up & walk, try to get the gas moving!!!!  You know what?, they were right, after a couple of days of walking the halls & sitting up & not laying in the bed, I begin to feel much better.  If anyone who is reading this, & has not had your surgery yet, WALK, WALK, WALK, WALK, & WALK!!  The walking gets the gas moving so you can pass it, I've never been soooooo happy to pass gas before in my life, but the relieve that I got!!!!! Wheeey!!!!!!!  I am home now & feeling pretty good, still get nauseated at the smell of foods, trying to get in all of my liquids is hard, but I'm working on it.  Got to go now, I getting ready to go for a walk with my Husband.!!!!

"2008", 1 MORE DAY!!!!

My surgery is tomorrow, @ 11:30, right now I am nervous, excited, my stomach is in a knott!!!,  I have been cleaning house all day (nervous energy), so many things is going thru my mind right now, I have been pretty cool & calm up until yesterday, now I am a bundle of nerves.  I know this is the right decision that I have made for me. but sooooo many things are going thru my mind right now!!  Wish I had some sleeping pills to take tonight.  I have been on clear liquids all day today, so needless to say, my DH has stayed away from me.  I can't believe my surgery is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!  I know that the Lord has dispachted his ANGELS to guide & watch over me while I am in surgery.  My neice is not coming in to be with me on tomorrow (bummer......), but my husband & In-Laws will be there with me!!!!!!  Thank God for them!!!!!!  Well this is all for now, I must go & do some more cleaning, but I will see you on the loosing side!!!!!  May the Lord, watch, between Me & Thee, while we are absent, one from another, AMEN!!!!!!!

I sure do have a lot of emotions going on!!!!  Excited, nervous, omg I'm going to have surgery in 5 days!!!!  I can hardly believe it!!!!!  I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas!!!,  Mine was okay, it was the first year that my neice & I didn't spend Christmas together in about 15 yrs.  She is my sister's daughter (my sister died in 1991) when my neice was 13yrs old.  She moved to Columbus, OH 3yrs ago, but has always come home for the Holidays, but she has a steady boyfriend & decided to spend the holidays with him & his family.  I didn't think that it would bother/or affect me as much as it did.  She was sad also, because she got engaged 2days before Christmas, & we weren't together for this happy occasion for her, but needless to say, she told me that I was going to be in Columbus next year for Christmas, & that was that.........but she will be down for my surgery on Jan 2nd.  I had my pre-testing done 2 days ago, all is well with that.  2008, It's a New SEASON, It's a NEW Day!!!!!!  I hope that everyone has a Blessed & Prosperous New YEAR!!!!  See on the loosing side!!!!!  GOD BLESS

I got a DATE.............January 2, 2008 OMG, THANK YOU LORD, I GOT A DATE!!!!!!  Went to my surgeon's office today, all of my test were fine!!!!!  I even lost 6 more lbs......, so that's a total of 11 lbs, in 4 weeks!!!!!, Did I mention........I GOT A DATE!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this is going to finally happen!!!!!!!  I am soooooo excited & nervous at the same time.  I will be on the loosing side.  These last few months have been some trying times, but I know that it will be well worth the wait.  I just wanted to post this exciting news.  I can't stop thanking my LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST for this second chance at a brand new life!!!!!

Well, I have had my cxray, egk, upper gi, pulmonary test, abg's (ouch), had my 2nd appoint with surgeon, Dr C, now I have to have more test, blood work, (did yesterday) & an EGD, will do on Tuesday, Dr C told me to make appointment with my PCP,  for Med Clearance, will see her on Tuesday evening, if all goes well, surgery will be before the end of this year!!!!!!! I am hoping for either Dec 26th or Dec 31st.  Either one is okay with me.  Dr C wants to see me on Friday, Dec 6th, will see Nutr. also, Dr C had her start me on a high protein diet, until surgery!!!!!!  Will start on Monday!!!!!!  Thought all of my testing was done & over, but better safe than sorry, It has been a long journey, I started this journey a year ago, changing my insurance plan, then trying to meet all their requirements.  Dietician took my weight, I have lost 12lbs, HOORAY!!!!!  This sure has been a trying journey, but I know it will be worh it in the long run.  I feel like my knees & my ankles are saying, "hurry up, we can take it anymore!!!!"  Hold on Help is on the way!!!!!!! I thank GOD for my husband, he has been my #1 supporter!!!  I always keep him lifted up before the Lord, for stength, guidance & wisdom.  Well this is all for now, will give update after Dr's appt on Dec. 6th.  Remember, ALWAYS KEEP GOD FIRST. TRUST IN HIM!!!!

I know it's been a while......, I've been sick again!!! I was telling the Lord who sick & tired I am of taking pills!!!! I have/had been having some rectal bleeding, my PCP ran some testing, & my H &H had been low, so she decided to schedule me to have a colonoscopy last month & she also ran some iron studies(blood test), come to find out I am now anemic & after the iron testing, I am Iron Defecient Anemia!!!  So needless to say she put my journey on hold until she could get some things under control, the results of my colonoscopy showed that I have diverticulosis & grade 1 hemorrhoids! AAAAAARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!, So with the diverticulosis, stress tends to make you have rectal bleeding!!! Okay, who can get away from stress!!!  So now I am on iron supplements & have some meds for when the hemorrhoids act up!!!! So now that everything is going okay, my PCP faxed the Surgeon my paperwork that he needed, she said that before surgery she would check my blood again, & if I am too low, she would just transfuse me before my surgery!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!  My paperwork was turned in to my insurance co, on November 2, I got a call yesterday, November 12 from my surgeon office and...........................I'VE BEEN APROVED, say what, A P R O V E D!!!!!!, the secretary said they had approved me within 4 days!!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!! APPROVED!!!!!, THANK YOU JESUS!!!, you never can tell with these insurance companies!!!!!!  I started to post yesterday, but I was still trying to take it all in!!!!!  After I hung up the phone with her, I got nervous, I guess that's natural.  So now I have to have an an EKG, Upper GI, Pulmonary testing, CXR, ABG'S (OUCH) those hurt!!!!! I go to see the surgeon on November 29th, to go over all the testing & make sure everything is okay, then I will have a date!!!! HURRAY!!  This has been a long drawn out process, but I believe it will be well worth the wait.  I have been on this journey since September of last year.  I had to waite to change insurance companies, because the one I had didn't cover WLS.  Praise God I've Been Approved!! I will keep everyone posted!!!
