What a ride it's been!

Having the sleeve is the BEST thing I ever did for me. I have to be careful and track daily as I'm healed at 5 and a half months out and can really eat whatever I choose. I'm down to 174.8 pounds, down 68.6 pounds from my highest weight (before the pre-surgery diet) of 244. My surgeons goal is 150 pounds but my personal goal is 140 pounds.
I feel amazing. I'm in a size 12. I had to buy a new belt. I can walk and breathe easier. I walked the other day for slightly over an hour and even sweated! People are telling me I look good. Life is good.
I haven't had much in the way of problems. Right away after surgery, I felt great. I don't know if it was mental or real but as soon as I was fully awake in the hospital, I felt positive and just plain good. I had moments when I first ate real food when I ate a little too much food protein and threw up a little. I know my stopping point well now.
I am tracking on Myfitnesspal daily and probably will for life. That's alright with me.
I was scared of surgery before I went to have it and put it off for 2 months because my father had problems with his gastric bypass. He had a leak, got sepsis and luckily lived through it. I knew I had to do something about my weight and I'm so glad I got over my fear.
