Faye P.
I am 52 years old and have struggled with weight loss most of my life. I have lost 90+ lbs a couple times only to gain it back plus more. After turning 50 weight loss was not the same. Working out, eating 1200 calories would not work losing very little over a 6 month span. I was able to climb Machu Picchu April 2015 with the excess weight but that was the final straw. I finally decided my need to change my relationship with food had to be drastic and final. I started researching gastric bypass surgery and it wasn't until Dec/15 I talked to my doctor who fully supported my decision as he'd seen my struggles with weight loss for years.
I've now completed my assessment and appointments just waiting on a final report with the nurse for vitamin D deficiency that will be in the next couple weeks. From there I just have to wait to be contacted by the surgeon in Toronto for a meeting and finally to book the surgery!
I have joined the gym and am tracking my food now using My Fitness Pal to help in the coming months/years to getting fitter, healthier and most of all the beginnings of my new life as my thinner self.
