Well this is my story, I am 39 years old and am happily married to a wonderful man and have 4 beautiful children which I absolutly adore. I have been battling my weight since the mid-90's so that puts me well over ten years of trying every diet and every diet pill. A few years back a friend had the surgery and was very happy with it's results. I was so happy for him because he could now enjoy life to the fullest without being held back by his weight. I thought I could never go through this surgery so dangerous and extreme. So I started my mission to really get on the ball and try to loose weight through diet and excersize. I could do this I was a strong willed woman and I didn't need to go through surgery to reach this goal! WOW, I was so wrong I ended up dropping about 20 lbs but could not loose anymore. I became depressed and put on about 35 pounds an extra 15 pounds from the weight I had started at. I then started to research the surgery and read other's peoples stories and was touched by all of them. I wasn't the only one that has this problem! I wasn't the only one that felt like they where at the end of their rope! and after much thought and prayer I consulted my Doctor at Kaiser and told him that I was tired of all the pains and problems that come from being overwieght! He referred me to the options program at Kaiser. A 24 week program to help you prepare for surgery or help you decide if this is really what's right for you. It is a great program I have learned so much by their staff. I am more aware of what triggers me to eat when I'm not hungry and what to do when I have these episodes. I am almost finished with the program and I am more excited than ever for surgery and my new life. To have my old self back and start enjoying all the things I'm currently to embarresed to enjoy. Did I say I was so excited!!!! I'll keep you posted!
