I am a very simple person I don't need expensive things to make me happy. Friends,Family, Children and my cat make me happiest. The Reasons I want to have the Surgery : 1. To be healthy 2. To get off all my medications(except coumadin thats a life time) 3. To play with my 6 yr old god daughter and her 8 yr old brother 4. Self esteem 5. Buy regular sized clothes 6. Look people in the eye 7. Go for walks with friends 8. My family and friends won't have to worry about me anymore 9. Sit in a movie theatre seat 10. Get on rides at fairs 11. Not be affraid to sit in plastic lawn chairs and break them 12.To stop wishing I was skinny 13. To show my aunt I can loose weight 14. To find the Love of my life. 15. To get married 16. To have children 17. To grow old 18. To die of natural causes not obesity 19. Watch my 4 neices grow up 20. Learn how to horseback ride 21. Learn scuba diving 22. Go on an airplane 23. Go on a cruise 24. Not to be laughed at behind my back 25. Be able to enjoy life much more My parents now understand why I want to have WLS and support my decision to have WLS procedure done. Although i still have not told my sisters I know they love me and will understand when i do finally tell them. I do love my sisters but, this is my decision. Golden Rule "Treat People The Way You Want To Be Treated" I have been fighting my weight since i was a teenager. I had a stoke when i was 32 and was diagnosed with AntiPhospholipid Anti - body Syndrome ( my blood clots to much) causing my stroke in some people clotting is good they won't bleed to death but, for me it wasn't good and it caused my stroke. So I decided to look into WLS in the states cause the waiting lists are just way to long here in Ontario. I found a surgeon that i liked and got the forms from OHIP for OOC so my GP could fill them out. they were sent in and after 6wks of nail biting i was approved for the surgery but, I let my sisters talk me out of it but,still continued to look into WLS I then found Dr. O' malley in Rochester and he was alot closer that the first WLS surgeon I had chosen. I again applied to OHIP for OOC and on the 17th of April was approved to see and meet Dr.O'malley. I have as of yet not told my sister's I know they love me but, this is my choice and my choice is to live healthy,happy and longer. Everytime I have to go to Rochester i need my sister to look after my cat Bear so my mother now wants me to tell them both why we are going to Rochester so much and i know she is right its just the thought of knowing their reaction that bothers me. Just repeat this to yourself when standing in front of a mirror or when someone laughs at you. Iam so glad I have friends that understand why I want to have the WLS done and why. My friends have been with me through all my attempts at weight loss. The biggest reason for my decision to have WLS is to save my life and to be able to play more with my 6 yr old goddaughter her name is Cherokee and she is the light of my life. August 11th - Well we are home home now after being in Rochester for the nutritional seminar and it was very interesting I haven't gained any weight Iam holding steady at my current weight since I was first weighed at Dr.O'malley's so thats a good thing. If I can maintain my weight or loose some weight before my last update. I am good to go I think. August 27th- Had a second sleep test at the civic hospital. was able to sleep this time. Technician told me in the morning that there was breathing irregularities but, it is up to the Dr. if Iam to go back and try sleeping with a CPAP machine. I hope not I can't stand anything on my face at night. Well a week from today my dad,mom and myself will be heading to Rochester for my nutritional follow up at Highland Hospital on the 12th of Sept. My second Nutritional follow - up is scheduled for Oct 16th Oct 14th - my parents and I are leaving on the 15th for Rochester for what I hope is my final nutritional update and will be ok'd to go onto the next stage which is surgery. I have my fingers crossed. Oct 17th - My nutritional follow - up didn't go as planned and I need to go back for a 3rd follow up on Nov 15th. Needless to say i was bummed and upset. I did a lot of thinking when i got home and decided i want this surgery and will do whatever it takes to get it done. Nov 15th - WOOHOO Kathy is going to OK me to have my surgery Iam so excited a little scared to now. I have the what ifs settling in but, I know this is normal surgery is a big thing. I also know this surgery will also give me a chance at a healthy, long life. I have been so bad lately with posting anything but, I Do Have a Date! and that date is January 15th/2007 I have lost another 15 LBS I can't believe it but, thats according to my scales and a total of 37 LBS since surgery. I have a post - op check - up on the 20th of February so maybe I have lost more will have to wait and see. My INR has been off the last 2 times I had my blood taken so I had to have a vitamin K shot to thin it out my blood. Feb 20th I have a post - op check - up at Dr.O'malley's toget my next diet and get weighed I really do hope I have lost the 37 LBS my scales say I have lost. Feb 22nd - Wow what a beautiful drive down and back it was sunny all the way to Rochester. The day of my check - up it was again sunny and warm. The snow was melting. I get to Dr. O's and get weighed I have lost a total of 16 LBS since surgery for a total of 38 LBS ! WOOHOO I have lost 16% of my excess body weight I am right where I am supposed to be. My Next check - up is March 20th. I also got to meet Louise my angelette and she was so nice and wonderful it was nice talking to her and we shared a laugh it was great meeting her. My dad and I left Rochester yesterday under beautiful sunny skies and I ended up forgetting my medicine but, my Pharmasist refilled them all when I told her what happened so I will be ok. The hotel is going to hold on to my medic bag for me cause I am comming down again next month. I have my next follow - up on the 20th of March I really want to be at the 50 LBS lost when I get weighed. I then don't have to go back until June which will be my 6 mnth anniversary. March 1st / 07 - OMG I just had my very first WOW! moment The shelf my computer keyboard sits on comes all the way out now with me sitting here its never done that before :) I am so excited. March 15th/07 - I did it I did it I hit the 50 lbs gone forever ( thats a quarter of my excess body weight ) on my 2 mnth Anniversary no less WOOHOO! March 17th/07 - I have lost another lb for a total of 51 lbs gone forever and I did it just before my check - up on the 20th March 18th/07 - Will be leaving tomorrow for Rochester for my 2 mnth check - up I hope they are pleased with my weight loss so far.

I live in a small town of 6000 people the name of this little town is Perth. Perth is an historical town and the place where the very last duel was held before the government made duels illegal. Perth was voted the prettiest town in Ontario we are situated 1 hr east of Ottawa the Capitol of Canada and 4hrs east of Toronto the Capitol Ontario. Sept 1-4 we have have a fair this year it is the 161st edition.

Sept 26th - WOW! I can't believe it's almost Oct and I will be heading back to Rochester soon for my (hopefully) last nutritional follow - up before i have surgery.
Well I had my surgery on the 15th of January and everything went well. I didn't have much pain just twinges. The care I received at Highland Hospital was amazing. I spent a week at the Hotel and on Monday Jan 22nd I had my stitches removed and was weighed I lost 22 LBS in the first week WooHoo. I have had no problems yet and I hope not to. I am on pureed foods right now until the 20th of Feb I hope I can make it that long...lol

July 12th/07 was my 6 mnth check - up and I was praying for 100 lbs gone when I looked at the scale I had lost 101 lbs in 6 mnths WOOHOO.

Oct/07 - I had lost 70% of my excess body weigh which was 140 lbs.
Jan 15th/08 - I have been so bad with updating my profile it has been a whirl wind year to say the least. I can't believe it has been a year already at my year check - up I had lost 163 lbs.
I am into a size 18 jeans and I'm close to being out of them now to they are getting to big. I'm into a 14/16 top or a xl depending on the make.
I'm lovein it when I go shopping now nobody pays any attention to me I look just like everyone else.
