Have not updated in awhile and will make this one kind of quick.  Have finally posted at least a few pictures on from beginning until now (6 months).  What a difference a few months can make!!  We need to buckle down and get the rest off.

Has been very hectic time here at our household and hopefully will now get better.

I have had to have a pacemaker put in as my heart rate was just too low.  Seems kind of weird for just being 53.  I just hope between it and the weight loss that I begin to feel some incredible zip!!!!

Now that I have updated just a little I am going back to bed.  Not quite 4 AM but could not sleep.

Just realized that I haven't updated in a good while. We are doing well as Joe is down 50 some lbs and me in the 40's. We are still struggling to get all of our protein and fluids in each day--never thought it would be this hard.

Joe had upper scope last week-thought he had a stricture but he is fine and no noticeable problems.

We still are at one day at a time and doing the best we can.

Well, it is over....surgery went well and we are now home!
Joe has already been taken off 2 insulin injections!!!

We are tired but minimum pain and no nausea.
We are so glad we have made this choice to have a better life and it started 2 days ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, tomorrow is finally the day! We are very calm and ready to go. Two of our three daughters will be there and we are glad for that.

I find myself unable to sleep even though we are getting up in about 4 1/2 hours.

Well, we are going to go try.....stay posted for the other side!!

Bump in the road passed!!!! Joe had his test and passed for surgery! Has the beginnings of some blockage but with our WLS and lifestyle changes we should be able to slow it down and he can grow old and sassy.......So now 5 more days....

Ok, we have hit a bump in the road...Cardiologist called and Joe has to go in tomorrow for a heart cath! Says that there is a slowdown in blood flow beside the heart...But if all goes well the surgery will go on as planned.

Well, the countdown is now underway! One week and two days.............All testing done, cleared and ready for takeoff!!

A little nervous but still excited. Joe is very calm about everything which amazes me since he has had only one surgery where I feel I have had dozens!!

The pressure is now on to get the rest of our yardwork done but we are already packed for hospital!!

All day nutrition class...check! A lot of good info was given yesterday and now we wait until next Wednesday for all blood, breathing, cardio tests, etc.
Also turned in actual "physician supervised diet" forms for Joe to his insurance today. Basically what they already have but spelled out (maybe easier for "them" to read). Hopefully this will get this done and stress of the insurance will be gone.
Time until surgery feels like it is forever away but yet at the same time feels like it is here!!!.......

Here is the day we go for the all day dietitian class and I can't sleep! Anxiety rules. It is 1:25AM and have not been asleep and am doing laundry. Maybe I just don't want to be late.

Well, we finally got surgery date this week--October 21. I am going in @ 8:00 AM and Joe is scheduled for 10:00. We have all day nutritional class on September 23 and all the preop tests including cardio on October 1.

We could have had surgery sooner but decided to wait so we could get all fall yard work done and our camper closed for the summer in case there was any complications (HOPE NOT).
Now if we could just get moving to get these done.......
