Stop asking me that !
Dec 17, 2008
There is a lady at my job who feels the need to ask me how much weight I've lost EVERY
time I see her. First, I don't really know you. Second, that is a personal question. Third, is it really any of your business? Fourth, must you be so loud.
I told her I really don't keep track of that. She's got one more time to ask before I say some things she may not like.
Actually, I don't know how much weight I've lost right now. After I got to onederland the amount lost wasn't as important to me.

Ever Want to Attack A Christmas Tree?!
Dec 09, 2008
This morning I went to my PCP. She had this tree that played every last Christmas song imaginable. It was LOUD and OBNOXIOUS and grated on my nerves. Not just my nerves but everyone in the lobby.
A few people even got up and went outside, it was that bad. LOL
I was getting my blood pressure checked and she said the bottom number is a little high. I said, that tree will make anyone's blood pressure high. Then she says to me, you know, everyone's pressure has been up this morning. You're probably right about the tree, I hate It too!
I thought the patients liked it. I assured her that none of the people in the lobby were happy and would probably be turning violent soon. I really wanted to attack the tree before it was turned off.
Apparently, the receptionists wanted the tree up. So she complied. However, when I left, she turned it off much to the happiness of all the other patients. Now, I don't want to hear another Christmas song anytime soon. I also told her she needed to do a comparison and contrast of blood pressures when the music was on then turned off. I'm sure with the music turned off they would be much lower.
This is supposed to be a time of good cheer and all I want to do is turn Christmas trees into firewood about now. I hope the next time I here Christmas music I don't do something rash and end up in jail.

Surviving the Holiday
Dec 01, 2008
My Thanksgiving was pretty quiet. i just tasted a little of everything and was fine. I even went on a 2 hour walk that morning. I'm glad I did because the rest of my days off were super busy and I didn't get a chance to exercise. As far as this fill goes, I'm still not sure of the restriction. I can't eat as much as I used to but am able to eat more than I should. This is where self -restraint has to come into play. Nothing much else exciting to report.
2 things did happen at my Aunt's house:
1. The pressure cooking with chitterlings blew. Chitterlings on the ceiling and cabinets and wall.
Glad I didn't have to clean it up.
2. My aunt has tried her hand at baking a pound cake. She put in the ENTIRE box of cake flour. Of course, it rose really high. I suppose this is better than her last try where she only put 1 CUP of flour in, though. She might want to let the pound cakes go at this point!!

Got My Fill
Nov 17, 2008
I got my fill today another .5cc. .I told Dr. Bilton that last one was a dud which was .5cc. I was right, I'd only lost 1 lb, according to their scale. So . . . .liquids for 2 days. Later!
Next time, I'll negotiate the amount placed in the band. These .5cc things are a little too slow. I want slow not nonexistent.

No Fill

Well, I was supposed to see my doctor on yesterday but that didn't happen. As I was filling out my registration card the receptionist told me he was on trauma alert and had been called in to an emergency appendectomy.
Oh, well. I'll just try not to eat like a pig over the weekend and pray the same thing doesn't happen on Monday; which is when my appointment was rescheduled for. I need a fill-BAD!!

Things Change

Ok, so maybe my shopping gene wasn't sucked out. It was simply in a dormant stage because
. . . I went shopping again. It was definitely unintentional. I was simply going to meet a soror at the mall to drop off some money for a fundraiser. She said she had to go to NY and Co. and that she had a coupon. I'm thinking, I can't wear anything in there so no harm done. YEAH RIGHT! Well, I can wear things in NY & Co. !!!! The saleswoman said we go up to size 18 and you don't look like an 18. I actually tried on a few pieces that I thought were my size but they were too big. Needless to say, I had to buy some things. 2 sweater,s 2 pairs of pants, a necklace and earrings. . . .and my soror gave me her coupon ( Thanks Tenise!). The new avatar was a result of that shopping trip.
I also took my measurements this month. This was something I was going to do monthly but the last I took measurements was in July. These are the inches I've lost since then: 4.5 inches from my waist, 1 inch from each thigh (darn things won't go away
), 2 from my hips and 1/2 from the bust
(I'm trying to keep as much up top as possible).
I also got sick
for the first time. On grits!! How do you get sick from grits?! I think I just waited too late to eat because my phone was ringing nonstop. I was so glad to finally eat that I ate too fast.
It was PAINFUL like being kicked in the chest by Bigfoot. I've never been so glad to throw up in all my life, which I did several times. Not a fun thing to but the relief I felt afterward was worth it.
One more thing, I will be attending the 2009 Presidential Inauguration. I don't like outdoors or humongous crowds but this is too historic an occasion to miss!! Hope to see some of you there!

I Went Shopping!!
Oct 29, 2008
Finally! I went shopping. I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans and 2 blouses. That's all my gift card would allow me to get at the LB.
I didn't know that they changed how pants were sized because it's been so long since I went shopping. I was totally shocked to see that the sizes were 1-7. They had to measure me in the store because I was so clueless. I ended up wearing a size 2 petite. I wonder what size that really translates to, though?
My next articles of clothing will be pajamas and foundation garments. I put on a bra the other day and my breast immediately fell out of it. Not the area I wanted to lose weight in, at all.
Of course, I'm really just hoping it's old and has stretched out. I also almost broke my neck on my pajama pants. Somehow, my left big toe got hooked onto the bottom of the right leg and I almost fell flat on my face. I'm trying to avoid death by some freakish clothing accident.
I slacked on my exercising this week but I'm back to it full force next week. I'm planning a wedding shower for a soror and have been running around taking care of things for that. It's on Sunday and after that I'm back to my regular schedule. Besides, I think the last fill did absolutely nothing for me.
I hope the next one works better than the dud I got last time.
BTW, I went to the old school hip hop concert last week. It was da bomb!! Biz Markie, Dougie Fresh, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane and Whodini.
If you remember the wop, cabbage patch, running man and the prep that concert was the place to be. Holla! Wave your hands in the air and wave 'em like you just don't care! Or, if you remember the rest of this line, "It’s been a long time; I shouldn’t have left you . . you would have been getting your groove on!

Making Myself Go
Oct 17, 2008
I'm going to finally do it. I have no choice. I will force myself to go. I am going to do the thing that most women love . . . . . go shopping.
I HATE SHOPPING! I don't know what happened, I liked shopping when I was younger then all of a sudden the shopping gene was sucked from my body.
Here are three reasons why I MUST go shopping:
1. I NEED clothes! I keep giving things away but haven't replaced anything.
2. I am taking way too long in the mornings trying on clothes to try and find something that fits. It's all way too baggy and who in the world wants to look bigger?
3. Clothes that are too big can be a safety hazard. I almost tripped the other day because my pants leg had gone under my shoe. I definitely don't need any more help in the clumsy department.
BTW, I had support group meeting last night. A lady at the meeting that I didn't know said, "I remember you! You look great! I can tell by your face that you've lost a lot of weight."
She'd seen me either right before or right after my surgery while she was still waiting for her approval. She sat by me so she could ask me some questions.
You never who is watching on this weight loss journey and you never know who you may inspire next.

Finally Made It!
Oct 12, 2008
I finally made it into "onederland"
. I thought I would be a lot more excited about than I was. After all, this was my first major goal and I made it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I made it but just thought I would be more excited than I actually was. It may have to do with he fact that I have an ear infection, though. Just getting up after laying down, I feel dizzy or lightheaded so maybe more of a celebration where I was jumping up and down is probably for the best.
LOL!
Now, I need to think of a new goal. I'll get back to you on that.
