9 Months Post Op

Dec 01, 2008

I wanted to take the time to stop by and give a little update.  This past month went by so fast.  I've lost a few more pounds, and am feeling wonderful.  I haven't been getting sick when eating things so much like before.  My body seems okay with sugar, which I do not like.  I do my best to stay away from it, and not get myself involved with my old addictions.  A couple months ago, I seperated from my Husband, and am now going through a divorce.  I'm much happier knowing I won't have to worry about his trust any longer.  I have moved on in my life, and have met a wonderful man.  From past experiences I have learned how to make this new relationship all I ever dreamed of having.  I am learning what true love really is, and feel so much more appreciated then I ever have.  Demetrius (my Boyfriend), has accepted me for me.  He's been very supportive with all I am going through.  Three weeks ago I went through an episode of passing out.  It happened twice, and it was due to dehydration.  I wasn't taking care of myself.  I had stopped taking my vitamins and protein.  I became weak, and lost a lot of hair.  I'm now taking my vitamins and the difference is incredible.  The protein has helped me to lose more weight again, and I am sure will also help in other areas as well.  It's so important to put yourself first, and I am just now learning this.  I'm focusing on me more than I ever have.  It feels good, and I know I deserve it.  I will stop back by next month, and leave another posting.  Thanks again for stopping by to read my updates.

Well here I am updating my profile, after not updating it in like forever.  I've had a few issues, since surgery.  Nothing, that makes me regret having surgery that's for sure.  I have a stricture, that I have been fighting for a few weeks.  I've had two procedures already, and one more June 18th.  Doesn't hurt much to be honest.  Just a little scary.  I'm alright though, and feeling much better.  A lot has been going on in my life with all these changes.  I've lost 112lbs total as of today.  I'm feeling brand new already, and so much happier.  I have lots of energy, and enjoy watching myself shrink.  I do admit, I need to take some more pictures though of myself.  I will update my profile more very soon.

4-6-08 One Month Update

Apr 06, 2008

Well, it's been a few weeks since I posted my recovery status.  I've been doing pretty well.  My incisions are pretty much healed now.  I'm feeling really well.  I got my test results back for my one month check up, and there are some complications.  Please pray for me, that I get better.  I'm in good hands, and being taken care of.  I have my one month post op appointment with Dr. Zorn on Thursday in Anaheim.  I will be asking lots of questions.  I have lost 36lbs so far since surgery, and feel wonderful.  I've also dropped from a size 38 pants pre surgery, to a size 30.  It feels nice to walk into a Fashion but and pick out a pair of pants.  It's never happened before.  Plus I can wear a cute belt with my new pants.  I haven't worn a belt since the 10th grade.  I'm so very thankful for this tool.  It's helping me out a lot.  I have my good and bad days though.  It's not easy on this new food plan.  It's getting better though.  I've attended a support group, and spend a lot of time in the OH chatroom.  I've met lots of friends in there, that seem to care about me and my progress.  It feels good to have the support from others going through the same thing as I am.  Thank you all for everything.  I will update more soon.

3-5-08

Mar 04, 2008

I wanted to take the time to update my profile some more.  Today, is 5 days post op.  I had a wonderful experience with my stay at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California.  The staff was very friendly, and extremely helpful.  I had a private room, and was able to have a guest stay with me.  I enjoyed walking the halls with all my friend I met at my pre-op appointment the day before my surgery.  I'm sure going to miss them.

I feel really good today. I got a good night sleep my second day home.I came home from the hospital 3-3-08.  My first night wasn't so good, trying to settle into my own bed.  I had an awesome, comfortable bed at the hospital.  Lastnight, I got used to my bed again, and was able to be more comfortable.  I was freezing lastnight, but other than that I slept like a baby.

I'm dreading not being able to drive for two weeks.  I will miss being so independent.  I'm sure my time will come soon, so I can drive again though.

As far as my health, I feel really well.  I'm a little gassy, and extremely tired of liquids.  It seems like everywhere I go, I smell somebody cooking something really yummy.  I miss the whole chewing process.  I'm anxious to eat beans, and eggs next week.

Well that's all for my update.  I'll be updating more soon.  I'm off to bed to get my Zzz's.

Another Update 2-24-08

Feb 24, 2008

Hi there!  I wanted to take the time to post an update on myself.  It's been a tough week.  My emotions are like a rollercoaster to be honest.  I've been told by several friends that have been through the surgery, that it's completely normal.  Well, that makes me feel a lot better.  I came down with a slight head cold yesterday morning.  I immediately ran to the pharmacy and started meds.  I woke up this morning, and felt worse.  I went to urgent care, and the doctor said pump the vitamins even more, and just rest.  He said that's pretty much all I can do.  Well... I was lookin to get a shot, but he said it wouldn't do me any good.  Ugh Grr!  Well now, I am just gonna let nature take its course, and pray to the good Lord that he heals me by Thursday morning.  I'd appreciate if all my friends, can do the same and pray for me as well.  Thank you all for all you have done with suggestions, and being there through such a tough week with me.

My Surgery Date Scheduled

Feb 21, 2008

Well I got my surgery date on Friday, February 15, 2008.   My scheduled surgery date is Friday, February 29th @ Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California.

I'm very nervous at this point, and all I can do is pray I don't gain any weight from now until my day.  I have lots of support, but could never have enough.  I'm new to this site, but love the chatroom.  I've had a lot of my questions answered, and have met a few really nice people.  I look forward to meeting several others going through the same as myself.
