11 days until surgery. I've been going to the gym 4 times a week to walk on the treadmill for about 3 months now and I'm taking an intro to pilates class on monday nights. Hate the treadmill like pilates. I think I would like the tread more if I could find an inexpensive FM receiver that would work inside the gym - but maybe I'd still hate it. Hopefully, as my weight decreases walking won't be such torture to my feet. Oh well, no sense whining it has to be done.

I'm 41 years old and married for almost two years to a great guy. My surgery is on 11/8/04 which is my 42nd birthday and 11/9 is my second anniversary. Funny how that worked out. I'm so looking forward to looking and feeling normal.
My journey to this point has been fairly standard, yo-yo dieting, etc. I have lost over 100 lbs three times before in my life but have never been able to maintain the weightloss. Now for many reasons (age, ruined metabolism, arthiritis, same old story) I'm finding it almost impossible to get even small amounts of weight off. The thought of getting the needed weight off to continue the happy life I have finally found was so daunting this was my last resort. A year after learning how to play (my husband taught me) golf (which I love!!) I found it too difficult to play. I was so depressed I thought "this is not how I want to not live the rest of my life." Becasue I'm not living my life at least not the life I want.
So I'm 17 days to surgery, Scared & Excited.
