To Change Your Life

Oct 23, 2006

I know this is the best decision for my health that I could make, it's still scary.  Can I really do this?  Will I be able to eat this way?  You can't one day say. I'm off the program and eat whatever you want.   Do I really have to give up ice cream?   I have very few rally bad habits, eating is one of them.   I'm so orgnized in eveything else I do, why can't I make logical daily decisions to change my eating habits so I wouldn't need to do this surgery.   I must be so weak,  I didn't have this big of a problem when I was younger.  It just seemed like after a hysterectomy everything went out of control.   Anyone else have strange cravings for chocolate?  I never craved any particular food.    I think after surgery it's going to be a real adjusment, wish me luck....

Boy that was written in 2006 before surgery, you know, I still have some of the same issues, except the band has for the last year caused me some problems and I think I may have created a few as well.   One of the things that is so positive about the band is how I'm never starving.  I never feel out of control, except there are a lot of days when I could care less about how much protein I'm taking in.  That's really dumb too because those are the days I don't feel real great.  Think there could be a connection!  I see I worried about a lot of things that were never an issue.  I was told I had to give up carbonated beverages, I've had one or two, nothing strange happened to me.  I've also had Champagne, infact I plan to have some on Christmas.  I also think I've eaten more than 1 cup of food at a time as well, and who said you can't have chocolate?  Except for this acid reflux stuff I'm dealing with, life is pretty good, I'm not at goal yet, but If I work at it, I"ll get there.  wish me luck on this too.....
