Today I got my lapband removed.  It worked a little, but it hurt me more. We could never get me to the point of it giving me restriction without being too much.  On May 4th, I went to see my surgeon and he told me that the appointment we were having was very common.  He has removed 50% of the bands he placed.  So now, today mine is out.  September 20th I am getting the duodenal switch procedure. After researching I decided on that one. It is a hard decision. I do not want to fail again.

Beginning a new year.

Jan 13, 2009

So, We have started this new year and for once not making weight loss goals that will not be met. The past 8 months have definitely been wonderful. I have gotten 60 lbs off of me. I am losing inches at this point, so as long as I am doing somethign I am happy. I am wearing a reg. 16 and that is a big change for me. 22 to a 16 I am proud. Well I definitely know things I can do to up the game and I plan on doing that. Happy New Year!

6 months out

Nov 05, 2008

SO I had my 6 month check up today. It went well. I have lost 61 pounds. Dr. Richard said that was very good for six months. I am pleased. I would love for it to be more, but I know what it takes. So I have to get on the wagon. I did not get a fill because I have restriction and I am losing. He does not want to make me too tight. I am ok with that. I do not want to be sick every time I eat. I am so pleased with this journey and decision I made. I am looking forward to the remainder of this marathon.

How are things going?....

Sep 16, 2008

Well to start out I am down 55 lbs. That does not suck. I am very excited. I love where I am now. I can eat with hardly any problems and I can eat less, so it is working. I am making smarter choices than I have made before. However, It is definitely concious decisions that I have to make. I had gotten in a slump, but this last fill is working as it should. I do not believe that I am at my ultimate sweet spot, but as long as things are progressing as they should I will keep at it strong.

4 months out

Sep 04, 2008

I got my 5th fill.. Hopefully this one will do it. One more of mushies left and then I can eat reg food. We will see after that. This is such a journey. I was discussing with a friend at support that I treating this like a recovery program as I am an addict. I can't have some things because they are gateway foods for me. I am not even toying with having some things. I realized I ahven't ahd soda in 4 months nor Chocolate. I think the chocolate people are hurting for money because of that. I was a chocaholic. I heart it!! But now i just deal with it. I do have my sf fudge abrs that does the trick so far. I think going to my support meetings weekly has helped me keep and stay on track because when I was in this hump recently I kept going with their support. Thanks!! Well to all on this journey I wish the best for you!!

So i am now up to 6 CCs in my band and I can finally feel things working. I now know what it is supposed to feel like. I very glad to finally ahve help with this thing. Now all gears going with making wise food choices and getting this weight off.

2nd fill.. and how do I feel?

Jul 17, 2008

Got the 2nd fill and I feel sort of the same. I definitely get full and I definitely do not snack between meals. SO this is what is is supposed to do.It is doing its part and I trying my best to do mine. I think I am holding up my end of the deal thus far. Success is motivation. I trying very hard to eat solid and not get used to eating mushies. NSV... I am fitting into some of my smaller clothes! That is exciting for me. I have a long way so it is important to take notice of the changes as they happen.

3 Months Out...

Jul 09, 2008

I am 3 Months out since the start of the journey with the liquid diet. Wow... to think that I would have already stopped and started another diet in this normal amount of time. I am so glad that is all behind me now.

I got my 2nd fill today. Dr. Richard put 2 more cc's in to total 4. I think this will do me for a bit. I have lost a total of 39.5 pounds since the beginning of this process, and I think that is awesome. I am so pumped to contimue and succeed!!

I actually tried some different pants on this morning and they FIT! This will please my husban so much because we ahve something to go to this weekend and I will not have to go buy something new to wear. Woo Hoo!

A little bummed.. but I know the drill..

Jun 30, 2008

Well I am bummed just a little bit because my weight loss has virtually stopped. I am still watching what I eat, and I am eating less. However, Nothing is happening for two weeks almost. I KNOW that I NEED my fill that I am getting on the 9th. I was going to move it up but vacation is this week and I didn't want to risk having problems during that. I am not bummed at what I(and the abnd) have done thus far because I couldn't have done it without it. I would have most likely quit "dieting" and already gained plus some back by now. I will just keep on and it will pay off.

I added some pics of the difference so far. I think there is definitely a start and it is VERY encouraging to see it in the pics. I am glad I took the advise of my support group and started taking pics.
