HI everyone..not much going on here..sticking to my diet and doing well I think. Im down to 209 from 266 since the befinning fo my liquid diet on 6/9 and surgery on 6/23. thats 57 lbs in about 4 months...I feel wonderful! went from size 22 W to a size 14 regular ladies, in jeans, a 3 x in tops to a XL. Im psyched. I plateau out for periods of time..about a week..week and a half but then I start to lose again. I think its just my metabolism catching up fromthe weight loss. I exerscise 3 times a week at curves. I have more energy and stamina, I can walk forever now..where before I would die just going grocery shopping! All my rings are too big for me and I can wear bracelets now that I havent been able to wear in a long time. My RNY is a wonderful thing....

Ok so I had my surgery on 6/23/09. All went well and I had no problems with it at all. My surgon said I was her "gift of the day" Meaning I was the easiest surgery she had all day..Made me feel great! I had lost about 11 lbs on my 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery, and when I finally checked my weight about a month out, I had lost about 25 lbs. Now at 9 weeks out Ive hit 40 lbs. lost forever. I'm 5'6" and started at 265. Im very pleased with myself but now have to get my butt in gear and start exercising!

Today makes 3 weeks since surgery
Jul 14, 2009
Im feeling great and back to work this week. Ive lost 27 lbs, thats counting the 11 or so that I lost on the pre op liquid diet. Ive had it with the damn protein shakes, thank God my friend gave me some optifast she had left over from when we were dieting last year. Hopefully it will get me thru till I can eat more normal foods. Foods seem to et stuck quite often for me, I think maybe Im trying to eat too much too fast. Ive gone down a size in blue jeans and my clothes are starting to fit me better all the way around. thats it for now. I will post a picture in a week at my one month mark.

Approved by insurance company

Ok so I was approved by Harvard Pilgrim 2 weeks ago and have not heard from my doctor yet. I have called her x2 and still waiting on a 2nd appointment and a surgery date. Im getting a bit anxious and pissed. I know I should calm down but this seems like my last resort. I have done so many diets in my life, weight watchers, nutrisystem, and a bunch more, optifast being the last one where I lost over 100 lbs just to put it back on again. I dont think i can do that again. I'd like to be able to have the surgery so I can use my tool to my advantage and keep the pounds off. I want to spend the second 50 years of my life being healthy and happy.

Pre-op appointments
Feb 10, 2009
I cant believe Ive already scheduled all my needed pare op appointments!
2/20 is my upper endoscopy, 2/24 is my dietary/nutrition. 3/2 is my psych and 3/9 is my cardiac! yay! all scheduled. I have to be smoke free for 2 months before the surgeon will operate, so that will be at the end of March. Its been 11 days since I quit! thank you Chantix!
the surgeon says she would like to see me lose, even if its only one pound, before surgery. I guess that's jsut "her thing" which is fine but Im finding it difficult to get into "diet" mode. I guess I should have as much enthusiasm about that as I do about the smoking huh.
I will update after my pre ops are over.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Giovianni. She's so young! haha..anyway, She and I talked a bit and she stated I was a good candidate for WLS as I didnt have alot of the "comorbidities" I do have some arthritis and probably high cholesterol, but will find out about that when I get my blood work done. I have to be "smoke free" for 2 months, which ive already started, I havent had a cigarette in 4 days! yay me!
I have to schedule the appointments and the doctors office will check on the insurance. Im praying the surgery will be done sometime in April!
that would be great! Oh and i found out my real weight according to their scales is 259...ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Well, Ive made an appt with my PCP, gone to the bariatric seminar at RWHospital, and gotten a password for my insurance so i can access my account on line to see whether Im covered or not for the surgery. Now I have to find a doctor who will take HCHP, and I will make an appt with them. small goals but all need to be achieved to get to where I want to be. 100 lbs. lighter and more healthy!
