Pre-Op Day

Had the hospital pre-op and my doctor's Bariatric University class today. So far, so good. Because I have either small, highly mobile or deeply hidden veins, they had a hard time drawing blood, so I have a couple of nice bruises on my arms - but it worked out finally and they got what they needed. Whew!
This process happened very fast. It took just a few weeks to get the approval from the insurance company. I called Dr. Kim's office to set up the surgery date and told them "as soon as possible" thinking that would give me till November. I was told, "well - if you can start your liquid diet today, we can schedule for October 13th". That's two weeks! Good thing I'd gotten my Last Supper in that weekend!
My husband has been extremely supportive, even to the point of going on the liquid diet too so I wouldn't be going through this alone. What a sweetie!
We joined the local rec center today which has a nice indoor track and wonderful classes to take. I'm looking forward to getting even more active as my knees get in better shape.
