Down and out

Jan 08, 2009

Have gained 20 pounds and I know why.  I am eating sweets like crazy.  I realized last night that I am looking for and eating comfort foods.  Stress and Fibromyalgia pain have me in a corner and is winning.  It seems that I am always in a mental battle of one thing or another.  I have to find the strength to beat this.  I usually come out on top, I just hope this battle is not a long one.  I just ask for prayers that I gather my strength and get my life back on trap.  Thanks to all who pray for myself and others in need of emotional support.

Back to OH from almost 3 years

Oct 15, 2007

Has it really been almost 4 years since my surgery?  I remember all the anxiety before the surgery and the post op as if it were yesterday.  I am on my second career choice since then.  I stopped looking and writing to OH a little over a year after my surgery.  I attribute my success after surgery to everyone on the sight.  My husband had to leave 4 days after my surgery to be with his mother while she was going through chemo.  I was on the message boards everyday and got help when I needed it and gave it when I could.  My niece had the lap band done a year after me and was on the site too she found it quite helpful too.

The biggest problem I found after my surgery was that my taste buds were effected and all the protein  powders I tried picked that I liked tasted horrible after the surgery.  I had to start over.  I found that the Nectar Fuzzy Navel was my favorite.  I haven't drank any protein drinks for a couple of years now.  I know I should get back on them especially now I am driving a truck.  I have been taking my vitamins and my B-12 Sublinguals.  I didn't take the B-12 for about a month and I could tell a hugh difference in my stamina and overall energy level.

I had my surgery because of my type II Diabetes and fight Fibromyalgia at the same time.  I did not have much energy and was sick all the time.  I knew I had to do something.  I was searching bariatric surgery for a friend when I found that it helps Diabetes.  I then started researching it for myself.  I went to the doctor and he said the success rate for diabetes resolve was high.  So I had the surgery.  My BMI was 37 at the time.  I weighed 256.

A great thing that happened was I was Fibromyalgia pain free for 11 months after the surgery.  When it came back though it did with a
Vengeance.  I was lucky when we moved back to Harrisburg that I found an expert in Fibro that has me pain free.  I was able to come off some of the meds he started me on and now I only take 2 plus my vitamins and minerals.

I have been married for 28 years and could not have children.  I love cats though I have not gotten anymore since our last 3 pasted away.  I am still in mourning for them.  We had them for 12 and 15 years.  My oldest CJ was 19, Tasha 15 and my baby Cassie 12.  They all pasted within 6 weeks of each other.  CJ from age, 2 weeks later Cassie of a massive heart attack and 4 weeks after that Tasha from medication the vet gave for Thyroid problems.  I feel like I killed her because I gave the medication to her.  It was all to much to bear all in the short amount of time.  We had gotten CJ when he was 5, Tasha 3 weeks, and Cassie at 12 weeks.  Cassie tried so hard to communicate with me.  She would mimmick a smacking sound I made to call her. She would come up to me in bed and start smacking to call me.  If I did not respond she would tap my shoulder and if that did not work she would lightly tap my face with her fur padded paw.  She was long haired and the others short haired.  I am sure I would not be driving a truck now if we still had cats.  We can have a cat in the truck with us but I don't know about having one in such a small area.  Others do it some even have 3 or 4 small dogs.  I think that is way to much.  But to each his own.  Check out my pictures of my babies and my hubby.  I am so proud to have had them in my life and my husband still is.  Time to go shower.  I glad to be back home at OH and look forward to seeing everyone on the message boards.

Goals, Dreams and other stuff

So much has happened since I last posted.  We are no longer with Holiday Retirement.  We are now professional truck drivers.  We are currently working for Covenant Transport.  John and I are working as long haul team drivers.  I enjoy driving and being with John all the time.  We have been on the road for about 2 months now.  We spend a lot of time in the west.  Mainly AZ and CA.
We made it to PA on our days off to move out of our apartment and put our belongings in storage.  We now have all our need to live with items and are still comfortable in the truck.  I realize how little one really needs to survive.  I am sure I need even less than I already have.
We also have started to earn supplement income working with Automaticbuilder (http://www.automaticbuilder.com/ceyler1093/) and Nutronix( http://www.nutronix.com/common/clientCustom.asp?SectionID=1&UID=50132&guid=ACAE6C3E-5932-4722-A9DE-1ACFB624162C ).     I found it when I was looking for a home based business.  What made me go with them is that I was also looking for a sub-lingual B-12 complex vitamin ( http://www.nutronix.com/shopping/sc_cart/sc_CatTy.asp?sectionid=1&guid=ACAE6C3E-5932-4722-A9DE-1ACFB624162C ).  Since my gastric by-pass surgery I have to have a sub-lingual vitamin.  the B's and iron absorb in the part of the stomach that was by pass and are crucial vitamins to have.  Nutronix sends you a 30 day supply for a $2.95 Shipping cost.  I like the web sights that you get too.  After I researched the company and looked over all the products I decided to make it my home based business.  Then I got the B-12 and was so please that it tasted so good.  There are 5 products they sell that I now use every day.  One of my favorites is the Shu-Li patches ( http://www.nutronix.com/shopping/sc_cart/sc_CatTy.asp?sectionid=1&guid=ACAE6C3E-5932-4722-A9DE-1ACFB624162C ).  I have found that driving in high winds and rain when it is night can cause muscle tension and make them knot up and cramp in my upper back, neck and shoulder areas.  I put a patch on each foot where they suggest to help these areas and one on each side of my neck.  The next day all the knots are gone and my muscles do not hurt anymore.  I had run out while on the road and found that when I do not use this product the cramps and tension continue to build up and creates severe pain.  When I got my order in and put them on the next day I was in much better shape so I put them on for a second day in a row and the next morning I was free of the knots, cramps and pain.  I feel so lucky to have found these products I am an Executive Director now and will become a Senior Director next month.  I have an Executive and a Senior members in my down-line already.  Oh I almost forgot to mention the Berry Tree.  I joined this right away too.  After reading everything on it I realized this to be an easy way to make money even if I do nothing.  I love the concept and set up of the Berry Tree.   The more you do the more money earning opportunities there are to make money.  I like the berry flavor in the O2 better than the plain.  I put it in my Crystal Light peach flavored tea and it tastes good that way too.

I feel so lucky to be were I am at this time.  I just wish we were in a better situation here in America.  Our economy needs to improve.  Being in the transport industry I can see that merchandise is not moving as much as it should.  There are more slow times than busy.  I worry that we are going to be in a bigger war that what Bush has us in now.  I am not happy about the ethnic things that are going on and the kids with guns.  I must say I have started listening to more Blue Collar Radio 103 on Sirius.  I like laughing a lot more than listening to the news and worrying.

If someone where to ask me what I dislike most about being a trucker is the ripp-off feeling I get every time I go into a truckstop.  Petro is the worst, Pilot the best in my opinion.  You can not just park a big rig anywhere.  So you are a captive audience.  The showers are nice but everything else is so expensive.  This is were we are expected to get our food, supplies and rest.  This is where we are parked when we are waiting on a new run.  You would think that drivers make a lot of money.  Any extra money is spent on super inflated convenient stores.
