Why nutritionists are referred to as NUTs

My post op diet...

Goals:

<600 cal/day

80 gm protein/day

64oz minimum fluid/day

No fruit juices

No carbonated beverages until at least 6 months post op

 

Week 1: Clear Liquids

Approved clear supplements: Unjury, Syntrax Nectar, Cytosport, Isopure Zero Carb, AMP

 

Week 2: Full Liquids

Whey Protein Isolate, >20gms protein per serving, <5gms carbs per serving

Unjury, Syntrax Nectar Sweets, Lattes or Matrix, EAS Advant Edge or Myoplex Carb Control RTD

 

Week 3: Blended

All Protein from food - No supplements

3 meals/day 4-6 hours between meals

NO SNACKING

Nothing to drink during or 30 minutes before and after meals

Eggs, Cottage Cheese, High protein/Low carb yogurt, Low fat cheese

Ocean perch, flounder, tilapia (poached/steamed & flaked)

Tuna/salmon (water packed), chicken/turkey (white meat, boiled) BLENDED

Vegetables must be canned and fork mashed

1/2 C per meal: Asparagus, beets, carrots, green beans, spinach, turnip greens, mushrooms, tomatoes

 

Free items for weeks 3 & 4:

FF margarine, mayo, sour cream, butter spray

SF creamer, whipped topping, coffee creamer, ketchup,

Walden Farms Calorie free salad dressing & condiments

Mustard, vinegar (no balsamic), herbs & spices, lemon juice, butter buds/molly mcbutter

 

Week 4 until 75% EWL: Solids

No red meat or pork

No pasta, rice, potatoes, beans, bread/bread products or fruit

May add fresh/frozen cooked veg

 

3 Months Post Op:

1/2 C cooked or 1C raw veg (expanded list)

 

6 Months Postop:

May add up to 2 Tbsp cooked green paes, winter squash, corn

 

Post 75% EWL:

Add more foods to diet
