I'd been counting down my loss since the first of the year when I started my quest for WLS but I've decided that a better reflectiion of weight loss FROM surgery would be from surgery date.  

:)  18 lbs lost pre surgery and now the race is on.........

I'm POST op.

insomniac now attemplting to head BACK to bed.  

First FULL day of Spring!!

Tomorrow it's onto the clear liquids again.  I guess I can't say I don't know what to expect...eh?

Hi dee ho neighbors.

We decided to have a little ''get away'' and my parents, Patrick and I went to Monte Vista Saturday morning for some fun.

We went to CraneFest to see the migration that happens every year in March. It was really cool (I'm going to HAVE to get a serious camera again one day)

We then went to the Colorado Gator Farm which is actually a fish farm. They raise Tilapia and to deal with the by product of farming fish they brought in a few alligators to help with the waste and it became a draw unto it's self. It's now a rescue even. NOT my cup of tea but Patrick enjoyed it.

We stayed the night in Alamosa and played in the pool and hot tub for about an hour and a half and then this morning headed out to the Great Sand Dunes for a little fun. It was cold and windy but a good time. Learned a lot and plan to return this summer when I can BURY Patrick in the sand!!

We headed back toward the springs and pointed out the Royal Gorge Bridge on the way home but had our fill of adventures for the weekend so will plan for a daytrip with a picnic later in the summer.

That's my quickie update!!

I was home yesterday before 4:30!!  amazing huh?
LOL, no I'm not "that easy" of a patient...   I need to be rescheduled.
I was in the Operating Room, under anesthesia, belly had been scrubbed and my surgeon was called to an emergency.  Sooo, I was brought out and will have to reschedule.  I'm okay with it, sure it's disappointing but not like they came across some health issue for ME saying it's a no go, it's not a cancellation but a rescheduling.  Trying for March 21st which isn't even two weeks.   :)

My oldest daughter and I have not had a real heart to heart on the matter and she's not exactly comfortable with the whole thing, so I you are going to consider that there was a reason for the postponement I'd have to say that I needed more time with her.
I've been reading Ester and Jerry Hicks, Dr. Wayne Dyer and watching the Secret so that is (in my heart) why I'm not still at the hospital and recovering today.

I did have a visit while in the Pre Op area...  HI CALLIANNA!!!   :)
I'm getting there, it's just a wrinkle.

In seven hours we will be driving down to the hospital.

tonight my mom helped me with photos and measurements. UGH. there are some BRAVE individuals out there, I'll say that. Maybe when I've made some real progress I'll be more able to share.

I'm loading the iPod ffor tomorrow. I need to get to bed.

have been successful at keeping myself busy and now it's the mad scramble to make sure I've done all I need to do etc.

Friday night late we got back from visiting my daughter in Salt Lake.  We were gone a week and it was a PERFECT diversion for my mind.

I put a hold on the mail until monday incase we went a bit longer.  SOOO, in the mail today I had a letter from insurance and I'm APPROVED!!

I called the clinic and they have yet to get their notice.  Dr Brown is on vacation for a week in March so it's likely that I won't be scheduled until April 11th.  That's great news, but seems SO FAR AWAY....

Andrea was going to talk to Dr Brown to get date information for sure.  I hope to hear back from her tomorrow..

Today is Wednesday February 7th.   

This afternoon I talked to Dr Brown's office and they have received all of my test results and are submitting to insurance....   She says give it a couple of weeks and they will definately be giving me a call.

Yesterday my baby turned 5.  I can't believe it's been FIVE YEARS...

It is time again for the Colorado Springs Support Group at Penrose Hospital. The meeting is Tuesday the 6th of Feb and 9th of Feb at 6:30 in CC A,B,orC. On Tuesday I will have some hand outs of a new type of snack. This product has been viewed by OH and it does do the trick. If you have a chocolate feeling and just need to have a taste, I have a great new product. The new company has asked for feedback from everyone. Hope to see you all on Tuesday.
