March 20

I did it.
Right up until the moment they wheeled me out to the OR I wasn't sure I could go through with it. I woke up in excruciating pain with a long incision and bruises everywhere. They had to revert to an open procedure so I have both sets of incisions. The pain continued to be nearly unbearable for about 36 hours, I couldn't breathe or move my arms without wanting to cry out, thankfully I was moved to a private room! A second IV was placed during surgery and you could see there they'd dug around quite a bit to get it. The whole inside of my left arm is bright purple and sore. The IV blew and had to be removed anyway and we went back to the one they put in pre-op.
I came home on Thursday. Frankly I feel like I have been hit by a truck, I hope I will look back in a few months and say it was all worth it.
