I am happy to say that I am feeling so much better now, I still have some pain on my left side but no where near like it was right after surgery. Its basically just very mild if I move or bend a certain way, but I think thats normal for us all. I have done great on my fluids and protien intake, kept everything down..although there are some things that just don't taste the same to me right now lol. In a few days I get to start on my semi solids and I am looking forward to that. I don't think that I will look at puddings, jellos and soups the same ever again lol. I have ventured out a bit, but do find that I get tired after a while and so I have to come back home. I havent tried to go alone yet, just for that simple fact ..but I am hoping that soon I can have that freedom again. I got up this morning wanting something warm to drink, so I am going to attempt some decaf coffee..I hope it works well with me cause I do miss my morning coffee hehe. Hi all, just wanted to post an update on me and my surgery. Everything went smoothly and uneventful, the Dr even felt so confident of how things went and how well I was doing that he let me go home the following day! Each day has been better than the last, I am still sore especially on the left side where the drain is but I am trying to stay positive and know that it all takes time. I go in Thursday for my checkup and have the drain removed. I havent had any problems with eating or keeping things down. I am up and about alot but also making sure I get my rest too. I am so thankful for all the support that I have recieved from all of you and my family & friends, it has made this journey so much more easier. I will be sure to keep you all updated on a regular basis :). Good luck to everyone, my prayers and thoughts are with you all!

It's been a while since I have updated this, not much has been going on..just waiting for my pre-op and then surgery day. Speakin of which is just two days away now *YAY*! Tomorrow I go for all my pre-op tests and pre-admission stuff, then Friday its the big day! I've been on a liquid diet since Sunday, its not fun thats for sure lol..but I am managing and sticking it out. I will update this once I come back from the hospital after my surgery. Keep me in your prayers! My life is about to begin again...

I am sooo happy! I got a call @ 9:30am this morning from Dr. Chung's office to let me know my Tricare approval had already came thru and to set up my pre-op and surgery dates! WOOHOO! I am amazed at how fast it went thru and now its just waiting for the day my life changes forever (for the better!). My pre-op date is Nov 20th and then my surgery date is Dec 1st! Gosh, I am just on cloud 9 right now..I am trying to imagine myself thinner but it just seems like a dream hehe. I will keep you updated on me as time goes on. All prayers and thoughts are very welcomed!

Today was my first meeting with the dr to talk about the surgery and if I was a good candidate, etc. Of course I had to fill out some paperwork (fun fun) first, and then I got to speak with Marcie. She was such a sweet lady and made me feel so comfortable. After talking with her she led my husband and I back to meet Dr. Chung. He is very nice and answered all questions we had. He was very assuring of everything and said he foreseen no problems in getting approval from our insurance company YAY! Who by the way is Tricare. So hopefully in the next few days or so I will get a call about that, and I am crossing my fingers that it all went thru fine. Dr. Chung said that if it did then I'd probably have my surgery in December..WOOHOO! I left the office feeling very happy, very relieved and very anxious to start my new life! I will keep you all updated on things. Since we are still fairly new to the area (Fort Polk/Leesville), I have yet to make any new friends here..so please dont be shy to contact me...I am craving some female companionship LOL.
