I had my roux-en-y in June 0f 2003 with Dr. Stewart in Denton, Texas. The day of my surgery I weighed about 256 lbs. Today I had found a comfortable body weight of 130 lbs. Although the pictures I have posted I dropped to 120 lbs, which was too thin.
I had no idea what kind of mental conditioning I was going to go through post op when I planned for WLS. After surgery I would sit on the couch and get emotional over fast food commercials. You may think I'm nuts but I had no clue what emotional ties I had with fast food. I returned to work six weeks after surgery. The first couple of months I was low on energy but eventually I leveled out.
It took me about a year to experiment with food and see what would make me ill. To this day I still make bad choices every once and a while. I dump on excessive amounts of sugar, but I do enjoy my fun size mini snacks every once in a while.
