Sergey Lyass

"Dr. Sergey Lyass, MDrnrnDr. Lyass is an outstanding surgeon. He is on the staff of the Dept. of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the BEST hospital in Southern California, and he has many years of experience with laparascopic and bariatric surgery in Israel, after receiving his medical degree in Russia in the 80's. He trained and practiced at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, which friends tell me is an outstanding hospital, then came to America and was a resident and practiced at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, which I am also told is a fine hospital. He has been on staff at Cedars-Sinai since 2006, and now has his own bariatric practice. He is not listed on this website, but he is MUCH MORE experienced than many of the doctors who are; it's just that his experience has been mostly outside the USA. rnHe has a wonderful, friendly staff. Irina, his coordinator, is an ANGEL, who makes sure things get done, and takes care of EVERYTHING! rnrnI have no doubt that Dr. Lyass' reputation will grow and grow with time here in Southern California. Luckily, I already knew about him!"

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

"The nursing staff and caregivers at Cedars are WONDERFUL! I was in a beautiful, big room in 8 SouthEast, and the staff there was so considerate, kind and caring. The nurses and assts. ALWAYS came at the shift change and introduced your new caregivers to you; the hospital FOCUSES on continuity of care and COMMUNICATION among the staff. The private rooms are BIG, beautiful, CLEANED 2X A DAY, (at first I thought I had been mistakenly placed in the 'celebrity wing', but the 8th floor is where most bariatric patients are sent!) and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, like an art gallery; in fact, the walls of all 8 floors are lined with beautiful art and prints, which makes walking around like a trip through to the local art museum! All my visitors were JEALOUS! The nurses and their assts. only cover 6 patients per shift, so I got plenty of attention. The only downside is the parking: very limited and LA CRAZY! My ride home spent 30 minutes trying to find a place to park at the South Tower. Parking is also expensive; the Beverly Center parking across the street on the east side may be a better bet for visitors. But make no mistake: this hospital is FANTASTIC! I hated to leave!"
