Well it's been a while since my last post, I've been busy enjoying life! So many things have happened, for the most part all good! I did suffer a mini stroke in June, I'm still undergoing so many tests to find out why it happened and if there will be an residual affects from it. So far I have been through 4 MRI's, an MRA, a Spinal Tap (yuck). On Wednesday I have to drive to Chicago to see another Neurology specialist. In October I will be have an TEE (Trans Esophogeal Echocardigram) to see if there are any heart related issues that are being missed. It seems I have had some out of the ordinary medical issues in the past year, but I know that if I hadn't have had this WLS I would have never survived some of them. I also was lucky enough to have my breast reduction and lift approved by insurance, that was done on August 7th!! I feel truly blessed to be in a size 8 and feeling so great!!

This has been such a roller coaster month for me! I am still doing great on the weight loss thing, but found out I had ovarian cancer and needed a hysterectomy, which I did not want to do. That took place on April 17th and by the Grace of God and all of the wonderful prayers from my friends, the cancer had dissipated and everything is wonderful! I was released 3 days post surgery and was back at work on Monday (don't tell my doctor! ha ha). I feel great and I owe it all to my health and well being, getting up and walking and having the energy that I now have since WLS has helped me to bounce right back from a major surgery! Celebrated my 43rd birthday on April 23rd and I feel like I'm in my early 20's and healthy!

Wow it has been a long time since I have updated this post!

Great news!! I have met my surgeon's goal!! Woohoo!!! 142 pounds lost in 8 months! This surgery rocks!!! I cannot believe how incredible life is!! Not only have I regained my health, I have broken free of a really bad marriage and have found my freedom and my new life!!! I am having the greatest time LIVING now!!

I sincerely wish that all of you here on OH have the same success that I have had. My biggest piece of advice is that you follow your doctor's orders to the letter! Had I not had such a strict regimen I don't know that I would have succeeded the way I have.

I am always here and willing to offer any advice, help, support, encouragement to any of you!! You have all been such a source of inspiration to me and I enjoy reading the posts every day!

God Bless!

7-4-06 I have hit my 2 1/2 week post op mark! I have promised myself only to weigh myself on the 16th of each month (surgery anniversary dates) but I am going to measure myself weekly, hoping that if I hit a plateau at least I can see inches coming off. WELL!!! This week I have lost 21 3/4" off of my entire body, gone forever!!!! This is so exciting!! I haven't had any problems as of yet. Still no hunger pains and getting in all of my protein. I am so grateful for this surgery!!!!

11 days post op! I get to go to my first check up with the dr. I hope and pray I have lost SOMETHING!! I have followed everything to the letter.

Surgery wasn't bad. The first words out of my mouth in the recovery room were "when can I get up and walk?" funny how powerful the mind can be huh? Knowing how important walking was right away that is all that was on my mind. I was tearing up the halls in the hospital the first evening and the next day. The 3rd day I was bedridden, guess the anesthesia finally wore off. I needed a day in bed to rest I was hurting so bad. Got to come home on the 4th day. It has been pretty good, I have my wonderful children home with me and they have been such a tremendous help! I don't know what I would do without them!

I have 2 people from my OH family that are in the town I live in that are going to come by and visit me after my surgery, they are so sweet! It's great to have exercise buddies too!

My youngest daughter is going to stay with me the entire stay at the hospital. She is such a worrier but so sweet, she takes good care of me!!
