17 Days Post Op

Mar 26, 2009

I feel pretty good.  The only discomfort now is the port site.  When I wake up and actually stand, I get a sharp pain for a minute or two then it goes away ( until I move the wrong way then it pulls sometimes).  Lost 7 pounds at my two weeks.  ONLY 120 more lbs to go.  I am on my way!  I have been eating mushy stuff.  Eggs, chicken salad, cottage cheese, homemade mush. I actually put something together that tasted very good, but like a dip for crackers or sometype of bread.  I took chicken breast, picca de gallo, added some season salt, lime juice and celantro.  Blended in the Bullet and it was very good.  I am going to make it as a dip for a party.
I am going to try some BBQ, made with chicken with a vinegar base bbq, sugar free of course.  Let you know how it turns out.

4 Days Post Op

Mar 14, 2009

Wow, its finally done.  Everything went well.  I had great nurses in the hospital (loved those meds).  Though the incisions are sore, I tell you the air bubbles are killing me.  Beside walking (which does help) is there anything else that helps?
I am having a hard time getting in all my liquids.  The UNJURY protein shakes are wonderful, they seem to be the best.  Better protein, better tasting and no grit.  www.unjury.com, takes about 2 days to get your order.

12 Days before Surgery

Feb 26, 2009

Wow, Can't believe it, only 12 days left.  I know it will be here before I know it.  It's been a long road getting here and it seems like so long ago, even though its been only 5 months since the commitment.   Like a lot of people have stated in their blogs, I was terrified to do the bypass. Since they have come out with the Lap-Band and it has been brought to my attention that it available and not so evasive, it's for me.  I am really looking forward to a healthier body and a healthier, happy me.
