Boo Boo
Pre-Op Class
Apr 25, 2007
So looong! Over 3 hours and I have been on this site for almost 4 years, there is not much I do not know. I just need specific details. The surgeons do 8 on Monday and 8 on Tuesdays. My time could be 7:30pm to 5:30pm. I need to get new blood work and a new EKG and Echo. Some how this means I need to make a pre-op app. with my PCP. This makes no sense. They never told me this. I already got my referral and a letter. I think they want more money. I will deal with it. Oh yeah, Day 1 not smoking and got my period. Not happy.
It's all set

Obessed
Apr 15, 2007
I have been on this site since Friday. There is nothing I have not read or seen. I got my approval letter on Friday and I can not talk to the surgeons office til Monday. It is driving me crazy! I do not even know if I still have a surgury date because of the appeal. My last planned date was May 14th but my work has approved my Vacation for May 26th. I hope I can change my date to the 24th or so. If they can not I will take the 14th! Going Nuts!
Approved!

I cant believe it!
APPROVED!
Apr 13, 2007
The deny letter said they had 5 business days to decide on the appeal once they received it and I got my approval letter 5 business days later. It is so hard to believe this is a real now after 4 years. I was just in the shower thinking about how much less leg I will have to shave! I think my parents were in shock when I told them and are now scared. They really didnt think I would get approved. And on a bad note, I got my hair cut today and I really didnt recognize the big fat face in the mirror. I have never gained this much in my face before and neck before.
Appeal
Apr 07, 2007
BCBS called to ask if it was ok for the surgeon to appeal. Ah yeah. That was 4/6/2007.
Denied Again!
Apr 04, 2007
So I was denied because I was not fat enough in the last 5 years. There is so much wrong with this.
1.My insurance BCBS did not say I had to be a certain weight for a certain amount of time.
2. I do not think losing 20lbs for like 1 month really should make a difference.
3. The Surgeons office had the year wrong for the 20lb loss.
So, I got my records from 2003 saying I was the fattest ever and they are sending it in with an appeal. I feel like they are going to come up with another reason. But i am trying to stay positive. Appeal sent in 4/4/07. By the way the surgeons office was suppose to wait until 4/1/07 to send it in, because i needed to have insurance 1 year. I thought that is why I got denied.

Lets see.. I got a date!
Pre-op class- 4/4/07
Surgery- 4/30/07
Post-op app- 5/10/07
Now this all sounds so optimistic. But I don't belive it. I have been here before in August.
As of today is am 5'5 and 245lbs. I looked up my BMI and it says I should weigh between 112 and 150 to be in the normal range. This seems like a huge difference. My goal will be 140. I never want to go over 150 of course. Now everyone changes their goal but everyone also gains alittle back after a few years. With that said, no lower than 112 no higher than 150.

Everyone writes down all the things they want to be able to to. I am trying to make mine more specific to me because everyone knows the usual stuff.
1. To wear a single digit size. I have no memory of ever wearing anything smaller than a 12. My shoe is even a 10!
2. To not get divorced. I wish we had some facts on WLS and divorce rates. From everything I have read, it seems like 75%. Higher if things are not so great before. Not good.
3. To weigh less than my mom. She is about 200 but is always dieting. My sister is the same but weighs alittle less.
4. To have more room in bed. We had a bigger bed but I felt like I took up too much of it. Sometimes I see my reflection in the TV and I look like a large mound under the covers.
5. To not feel like people expect me to do things that they would never expect some dainty little girl to do. ex. Carry heavy items, move furniture, fix stuff... I would rather just to be able to do them. But now I feel like one of the guys.
6. To have more flexibility sexually. With my husband or by myself!
7. And all the regular stuff.
