 I'm 8 days post-op (gastric by-pass) and 4 the last 2 days I've been having this awful pain right across my breast plate . At first it was a dull pain, until the other night it just became unbearable,at first i thought it was gas,but it cant be cause i took every medicine allow,and no relief,i couldn't move let alone stand straight,it has ease up allot today (thank God) i really thought about calling the ambulance when it was at it worst. My doc seems to think that the swelling has went down from the surgery and that I'm feeling the pain now. I don't know bout all that, i just hope it doesn't ever happen again. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE HAD THE SAME THING OR SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPEN TO THEM? I would love to know so i don't think it's more than what it is or could be.

 I had gastric by-pass surgery done 8 days ago i have bad gas issues,in the hospital they told me 2 walk,and gave me an antacid,it helped a little,but not enough for the pain 2 go away,i just had 2 let it pass,now I'm home and still having the same issues,with no sign of relief, ANY HELPFUL TIPS OR IDEAS?  Also i have to force myself to drink,because when i do ,it only takes a couple of sips to make me feel real full,so full that's it's uncomfortable. I want to keep hydrated,my doctors says it takes time, i ,just wondered if anyone was or currently is felling this way.

  I had surgery 5-26-2009,i came home yesterday,I'm a little sore,but OK,I'm forcing myself to drink,I'm not thirsty or hungry, I'm just...........i have no words for it,i know i have to drink,but honestly i don't feel the need to,is it common to feel this way?  I'm having problems with sleeping, can't get comfortable,any tips?

  I just joined this site today, and my by-pass surgery is in  8days, been waiting almost a year and  its finally here. I keep getting different stories from different people about things that happen after, but no one that's telling me these stories have actually had the surgery themselves, their just telling me what they heard, so this nice lady gave me this web site address.  First question is,HOW FAST DO YOU START SEEING WEIGHT LOST, second, IS IT FAST OR SLOW,third, IS IT HARD TO GET USE TO SIPPING LIQUIDS
