2 Months since VSG

Dec 16, 2007

I am miserable at keeping my blog updated.  I really had plans to keep such a good log of my weight loss, since this was going to be the "last" weight loss journal I would have to keep.  Oh well, here goes for months 2.  I am down to 176, that's down 35 pounds since surgery.  I feel great.  I still have a few issues getting foods down, but that is getting better with each day.  That is simply because I try to eat too fast.  I know I'm loosing slower than it seems most are loosing, but I'm happy with the results thus far.  I'm almost halfway there.  Not bad for 2 months.

Today is my one week mark.  I am amazingly pain free.  Just little twinges under my left rib cage at times and my back hurts a littlel if I walk around too much (went to Walmart to shop and found that out).  This morning weigh in was 196.5 that's 14.5 pounds down from the day I left home the day before surgery.  I am getting my liquids in ok, but it does take all day, a little bit here and a little bit there.  I am using the protein bullets for my protein, I find that the 45 gram size is very thick and sickenly sweet, but the 26 gram size is much easier to get down.  I gave up on liquid vitamins, and I'll wait till I can do chewables.  Tomorrow I go to "full liquids" which allows me to have some yogurt and foods like that.  mayabe a soup that's a soup not just the broth from it.  So far this has been a great ride.  I have no complaints, I mainly just laugh at myself.

Getting closer!!

Sep 20, 2007

Less than 1 month to go and I go from excited to worried and back to excited again.  I read that this is totally common and am just waiting till the date gets here.  Real estate market really slow here in Atlanta area right now, so I decided that since I'm putting out $10,000 for surgery that I probably should have some positive cash flow coming in so I've taken a part time job back in the nursery at a local hospital.  So, on top of working real estate 5 days a week working at the hospital 2 days a week and planning surgery....wow, I'm a little overwhelmed.  But, it's nice to be back with the babies in a much slower environment.

I have a date!!!

Aug 16, 2007

Today I called and scheduled my sleeve surgery with Susan at Dr. Alvarez's office.  My day is October 16, 2007.  I have made my travel arrangements and a friend that I worked with for many years is going with me as my support person.  My husband is supportive, but he is a little on the uneasy side I think.  He worries about me being so far away from home and maybe something happening to me.  I worry too, but not enough to miss out on this opportunity that I have looked for for so long.
