I am a Grammy!
Feb 19, 2010
1. my inheritance is the power of prayer.
2. People hear what the want to hear.
3. I can't change how people feel about me. If they don't like me it is their problem.
4. No one has the the right to be mean and rude to me. I thought that as a Christian, I had to be kind and nice no matter what was said or done to me. I can stand up for myself because no one has the right to be in my face
5. God protects me from all my enemies.
6. No weapon formed againist me shall prosper. per the Bible
7. How important my husband, family and extended family are. They are there when you need them.
8. How much I love being a grammy!
9. I will not allow myself to be in a situiation where someone will have power and control over me or think they do again.
10. It is ok if I wear my heart on my sleeve.
On top of all that, my husband is in Iraq working so I am at home alone. I really need to get out and do more, join a group of something. any ideas?
With God's help, I will continue to go forward and be the best grammy for Will that I can be.
Four years now!

Happy Friendship Month-Top Ten Ways To Be A good Friend
Feb 18, 2007
The most valuable asset you can ever invest in is a friendship. In fact, it turns out that having your best bud around is just what the doctor ordered. Research has shown that a good friend can actually make you live longer, happier and healthier.
Friendship is so important, in fact, that people may actually suffer without it. The absence of friends is associated with higher instances of illness and a great likelihood for death. A study of 4,725 adults in California showed death rates twice as high for the most socially isolated people compared to those with strong social ties.
What is it about having a good friend that can impact your life so profoundly? Maybe it’s the fact that they laugh at your corny jokes or that no matter how big or small an event may be in your life, they are always excited to hear about it. Of course, who’s to say it’s not the fact that they force you to go out and have a good time when all you feel like doing is crawling into a hole. Then again, it may very well be that they let you vent when you’re angry, make you laugh until you cry or -- better yet -- cry until you laugh or go out of their way to show you that they care.
Whatever the secret is behind the profound healing power in friendships, it's important to value and treasure the ones you have. The truth is, you can have all the money in the world but without a good friend you'd be missing out on the richest jewel of all.
The best way find a true friend is to be one. Here are the top 10 ways to be a good friend.
1. Honesty: "Honesty always remains a priority.” -- Inspection 12
Truth and sincerity are the keys to trust. In order for a friendship to develop, trust must be formed. A friend needs to know they can count on you to give them the best advice. Who else is going to tell you the outfit your about to buy is completely horrendous? Honesty is what makes having a good friend such a breath of fresh air.
2. Kindness: "Hey my friend, I see your eyes are troubled, care to share your time with me?" -- Dave Matthews Band
Kindness is standing by a friend even when the whole world is against them. It’s going out of your way for them, remembering to call them on their birthday and it’s making them feel good about themselves, especially, when they are down.
3. Respect: "You were the one who made things different; you were the one who took me in. You were the one thing I could count on; above all, you were my friend.”-- Tom Petty
In order to be a good friend, you must respect your friendship. Never take advantage of your friend’s kindness. Always repay your friend if you borrow something. Never envy their success. Always treat your friend as an equal. Be courteous and always hold their feelings in high regard.
4. Forgiveness: "Best friends just won't leave your side." -- Blink182
The act of forgiving is essential in lasting friendships. Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting but it does mean loving and accepting. It means you are willing to look past the difficult times to save your friendship.
5. Sacrifice: "In good times, in bad times I'll be on your side forever more, that's what friends are for." -- Dionne Warwick
Sometimes, to be a good friend, you must go beyond what is convenient for you. If your car were to break down at 3am in the middle of nowhere, a true friend would come pick you up, no questions asked. It's that reassurance that makes up a friendship.

6. Support: “No, I won't be afraid. Oh, I won't be afraid. Just as long as you stand, stand by me.”--Ben E. King.
It’s important to surround your friend with support. Also, you must stand up for your friends and never talk bad about them or allow others to belittle them.
7. Giving: "I get by with a little help from my friends." -- John Lennon
A good friend gives openly without expecting anything in return. As a true pal, you should give advice but not command it and never say I told you so.
8. Laughing: "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I though I was the only one.'"-- C.S. Lewis
It’s important to make time to be free and just laugh and party down with your friends. No matter how you look at it, any time spent laughing your head off with your friends is time well spent.
9. Acceptance: “A friend is someone who sees through you and still enjoys the view.” -- Wilma Askinas
It's important to encourage your friend to express their individuality. By maintaining this attitude, your friend will never feel that they must try to impress you or act in a way that another person would in order to please you.
10. Reciprocating: "Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long, 'til I'm going to need somebody to lean on."-- Bill Withers
A true friendship is never a one-way street both people must give and take. You must open your heart, share and give your friend the opportunity to do the same.

Christmas Eve 2006
Dec 23, 2006
I can not believe Christmas is here, I am 15 months out and feeling great. I have lost a total of 125lbs. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. It is the birthday of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to little gifts to all I know, but the greatest gift of all is Jesus.
I wish everyone love, peace and joy this Christmas! May the new year bring a new beginning for everyone.
Merry Christmas
WOW! I made it!
Dec 18, 2006
It has been a few weeks since my last post. I made it through my exams and am pleased to say that I have done well. I never dreamed that I could make it this far. School has been great and my dreams of working in the medical field are not far off. When I am finished I will be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) . Now that exams are over, I can do some Christmas baking and finish my shopping.
I hope every one has a very Merry Christmas! May the new year bring you love and joy!
A Reflection......
Nov 02, 2006
My reflections of a year gone by.....
I would do it again in a heartbeat. My life has changed. My physical well-being has improved almost overnight. My mental/psychological well-being is struggling to catch up. I've had few complications.
I still struggle to recognize myself when I catch a glimpse of me in the department store mirrors. I still feel fat. I still fear that I will regain weight. I still feel lost. Some days I'm a confident woman who can hang out with 23 yrs olds that weigh less than 120lbs and still feel just as attractive. Other days I see myself as the insecure 240 lbs overweight ugly girl. It's a struggle everyday.
I am a blessed woman! I have a wonderful husband, who loves me, two wonderful boys and wonderful friends to share my life with. I thank God every day for the things he has given me and the opportunities that are behind me and in front of me.
Fall is here
Oct 24, 2006
Well, I think fall has actually arrived, it is chilly here in North Carolina. I have not posted in a while so here I am updating my Journey. Things are going well, our WLS support group is going well and we have had some good speakers and discussions. I am pleased with how well it is going and it helps me so much. School is going well and I am fitting into the routine. I am pleased with myself and my weight loss.
