Due for an update...

May 10, 2008

Well...since the day of my surgery, March 4th..i've had all complications.  I was pretty much hospitalized for the entire month of march and into April.  My biggest issue??? Can't keep food down, constantly nauseas and constantly throwing up to the point that i break all the blood vessels in my face.

The bigger issue, there doesnt appear to be anything "mechanically" wrong so every is telling me to just get through it. Dr. Pohl has been great and i'm seeing every 2 weeks since i'm on TPN (artifical nutrition and have been on it since coming home in April) I have a nurse that comes sees me every week to take blood and make sure i'm all set.

This past week I got a new primary care dr who sent me to a new GI Dr. Hopefully together we're going to figure out a way to get through this because this is completely consuming my life.  I'm always weak ...have constant headaches....not sleeping well.....not able to drink that much.....its just not a good thing at all.

On the positive side, i've lost 55 pounds. That actually is rather fast for me especially since almost 40 of that was losting while i was in the hospital due to malnutrition.

I'm still out of work and am doubting i'll be going back until this TPN is out of my arm. (i had to have a PICC line put in, actually this is my second one)

Anyways.....thought i'd share my story...wikk will write more later.
