I am down 100 lbs and 35.5 inches but boy do I really need to add another pic as that one does not look like me any more!

Just in the event anyone is wondering where I am..............my computer is really sick and I am having a terrible time getting logged onto the internet.  I need to take it to have it fixed but it is tax season and on the side, I do taxes. I am doing great and have lost 80 lbs to date.

I miss everyone and hope to be back as soon as my computer is fixed. 

I have lost 48 lbs and am returned to work.  That's why I have not been posting lately.  Work is soooooooooo time consuming!

I have not had any adverse reactions to any foods.  I will probably be one of those people that do not dump.  And I really need to dump to keep me legal.  Well, I guess I will have to behave on my own.

I can't work out for another two weeks according to my doctor and the weather has been nasty, so walking is hard.  I have the exercise bike though.

Well, enough about me!  How are all of you doing?

  I made it!

Surgery was actually not that bad.  The only problem is now I have a sinus infection and feel horrible because of it.  My nose is bleeding, I have a fever and can't stop sneezing or blowing my nose.  My teeth hurt.

Other than that.......I feel great!  

Working on my liquids and walking.  It is 6 degrees here so I am walking back and forth in my house.

Tomorrow is the day of my surgery and new life!  I cannot wait to begin.  I have lost 30 lbs since 12/4/07!  So that was gravy.  Now there is less to lose after surgery.

I have lost at total of 21.5 lbs.  Dr. Stanish is still acting strange towards me but I am having my surgery on 12/27/07!  

My first grandson was born on December 16, 2007.  Nathaniel Blake Farlow.  I will be leaving Friday, 12/21/07 to go to North Carolina to see him!
I will be back on Wednesday, 12/26/07.  So, I may not be on very much.  No computer at my son's house.

     I met with my surgeon on Tuesday December 4th.  He was not happy with me!  I had gained 15 lbs. since seeing him in August and he said he did not want to operate on me.  He said he does not believe that I am serious about this surgery.  

I told him I was very serious.  I also told him that I was struggling something frierce with my edema.  He said he did not believe me.  He put me on a diet.  Told me to come back on 12/18/07 and he would then decide if he was going to operate on me on 12/27/07.

Well, in 2 days........I have lost 14 lbs.  I told him it was fluid.

I have upped my fluid pills and been on a semi-liquid diet--2 low carb protein shakes and one small high protein meal a day.  

I am not going to deny that I did not over indulge at Thanksgiving.  My family all said, it is your last meal--enjoy!  But he was mean to me.

It made me think.............maybe I am not really serious about this.  Do I really want to never eat chips and salsa again?  Do I never want to eat a hot dog again?  Lexington Bar-B-Q?  

I don't know.  I was so excited until meeting with him.  He has seen me a total of 2 times and just ripped me apart.  He does not KNOW me.

Oh, well, enough of the pity party.  I have to go drink more water. 

I had my psych evaluation on Wednesday, my first education class yesterday and I am up and running towards my surgery date!  I am so excited!

My class consists of 2 other women and one man.  Everyone was very nice. I hope we can all get to know each other as we will be going through this together.  

I did not have a chance yesterday because I had to go to work, but I want to ask them if they have heard about ObesityHelp!  I will next time.

I received the call from my insurance company on 10/16/07.  I am approved!!  I am so excited.  

I begin my classes on Nov. 1st and meet with Dr. Stanish again Dec. 4th.  My surgery should be sometime around the 3rd week in December.

Thank you Jesus for showing yourself mighty!  I serve a powerful God.

Still waiting on the insurance company.  I have called every week but get the same response, "We are working on the wording so we can be sure this is approved."

In December, 2006, I contacted my doctor and began the process.  I called the insurance company  (United HealthCare) in April and asked all the questions listed on a website.  They verified my coverage.  I then contacted my surgeon's office and they send me tons of papers to fill out.  I finished up my six months in June, sent in all the paper work and waited.  Surgeon's office submitted everything to insurance after verifying coverage.  They waited.  Finally, in August, I call them.  They say, haven't heard anything from the insurance.  I call insurance, they say, you are no longer covered.  Your company changed plans effective 7/1/07 and obesity surgery is no longer covered.  I went ballistic.  

They gave me a care coordinator and I have been working thru her.  My company human resource officer says they are going to pay because no one informed us that our coverage was changing.

I just know that I NEED this surgery.  I do not feel that I will live very long without it.
