Yeah!!! I wake up each day and can just feel the energy! Unfortunately the sunday after I got home I got my menstral cycle, so I don't see the "real" pounds/inches I have lost, but my edema is almost negligent! (except for the norm swelling us women have during our cycles) In the shower, I no longer get out of breath, and it's easier to stand for longer periods and just feel the water run all over me. Yesterday my daughter and I ran quite a few errands and it was super humid. I had no problems walking and getting in and out of my car. I barely broke a sweat (usually I sweat as soon as I get out of my car on humid days) and I felt great after getting all that exercise! I can't wait until I can do my tae-bo! That can't be done until about 3-4 weeks out (sigh) but that's ok, it will come soon enough. I do feel a difference in my tops and pants fitting more loose, but still need to feel the difference in undergarments. Anyway, I just wanted to update everyone on how I am progressing since it's been a few days. WOOOHOOOO God bless everyone!

Ok, quick note-- I'm home and doing well! The surgery went very well according to Dr Hobson, and he was really happy with how fast I was up and walking around and how well I was progressing! I find it a little hard to drink my 2 - 4 ounces every hour, but I WILL do it or get awfully close. The gas is also something to deal with, but I'm dealing with it, and will go and get some gas-X in a couple more days if I still need it by then (one thing I forgot to get before the surgery silly me) I woke up this a.m. feeling a little bit icky, but after I took my chewable centrum, my liquic b-12 and my chewable calcium I felt MUCH better...Ok...that's quick enough...need to get off the puter and get some more rest! Thank you EVERYONE for your well wishes! I DON'T regret this surgery! WOOOHOOO!!!! God bless everyone!

Wooohooooo!!!! Tomorrow is the big day! I'm still excited, nervous, scared and happy. I don't regret this decision at all, and am looking forward to starting my new journey to the losing side! I have to be at Atlanta Medical in Atlanta by 6:30, and the actual surgery is around 8:30. Had to start the clear liquid diet and drink Phosoda (fleet laxative) yesterday and today and let me tell you that is the NASTIEST stuff I've ever tasted (next to asparagus!) Ick! It took everything I had to keep it down, but I did it! But I'm sooooooooooooooooo hungry!!!! lol Thank you everyone for your warm wishes, prayers and good lucks! Luv ya'll!
EGD day

I had the EGD yesterday. Everything was great! The staff at Atlanta Medical are so super sweet, they all made it a truly non-scarey, wonderful experience. Knowing this, I am less scared about next week (the actual surgery) and more excited than ever. I had no complications or pain from the EGD, however I get super sleepy from the anesthesia for a couple days after. But other than that, things are great! March 28th--here I come!!!! Wooohoooo!!!!!
Pre op appointment

Boy oh boy they weren't kidding when they say pre-op takes most of the day...arrived at Dr Duncan's office late (because of traffic-- a normally 35 min drive there took me an hour and 25 mins today) I was only late by 20 mins though thank goodness...Then was there until about 11:45, (saw Dr Hobson and spoke to the nurse Linda Wood), then pre registration at the hospital...that took extra long because they only registered me for the surgery, even though I TOLD them I needed to be registered for BOTH the egd AND the surgery...ugh...LOL but everyone was super super nice....then was in the pre op testing from 12:10 to 3:20...that was a bit ridiculous, but it's all done and over now and because everyone was so sweet and helpful, it made it all worth while...One more appointment before surgery-- the dreaded EGD...going to be awake for it, but sedated...hope I don't freak out and make it hard for them to stick the scope down my throat...(Going to say an extra prayer that morning LOL) Oh my! Then my surgery next Wednesay.... WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Consult

Had my consult this past Tuesday. I felt it was a total waste of my time and money, because I had already seen Dr Hobson in July of 2006. He just "reviewed" what he told me back then, and I informed him of the problems a few of us had with his office staff. (Not the insurance reps though). He was upset that we had to go through such a stressful time before major surgery, so hopefully no one else will have to go through all that we have had to go through with Dr Duncan's office. I'm looking forward to my pre-op appointment on the 20th. Im starting to get excited, nervous, scared, happy. I am now one day shy of 2 weeks before my surgery and have already gotten everything I will need for my "diet" following surgery except the sugar free popsicles. We will see what I can tolerate. Whew! Can't wait!

Yes yes yes!!!!!!! Finally got a surgery date yesterday! March 28th!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO. Had to talk to the manager and make her aware of all the lies, delays I was having. Persistance paid off! I am so looking forward to all of this! Yaaaaaaaayyyyyy! Thank you God!!!

Anyone that is trying to go through Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics (Dr Titus Duncan's office in
Atlanta ) for their surgery and having problems getting a surgery date after being approved, DON'T contact Don Kirk, or Jackie. You NEED to contact
Tracy at 404-265-4494 and or Shona Braden at 678-553-3178. Certain people seem to have problems that have to do with these 2 types of insurance because they pay slow, and Dr Duncan is NOT aware of the hassles we are going through just to get a surgery date after being approved! Once approved for surgery it should only take 5-7 days to get a surgery date! Good luck!

Still waiting for my surgery date. I don't know why I am getting the run around when I do call, but something's not right. I'm hoping to get my surgery date soon, as I only have one more month to get it done with in the approval from Wellcare. Pray for me! Thanx!
