My story is a blur! High school was great I met my husband and I was too hot to trot! I loved life myself and everyday I was active and played sports year round and never a pound over 150 at 5'7. Then I got pregnant right out of high school ! Next thing you know I'm married 2 kids and 11 year later (8 and 10 now) I'm pushing 300 and about to go crazy! About 2 years ago my life really started again on the right track! I got a fantastic job , the kids Are doing great, my husband and I are one the same page and then we bought a house . July 2009 my life seem nearly perfect EXCEPT I'm as the Dr put it I am "morbidly obese" daaaaNG THAT hurts! So I say okay let's do it last thing left for my life to be just as good as it gets; I ask for the bypass.
So primary doc says yes you qualify and I have kaiser so they approve me and So now I just what till I can get in on the "options" program (12 week classes on WLS). Turns out every bodies in line for this program so don't get a call till September 2009 for them to tell me I don't start class till January! Daaaaaaaamn that really hurts! But okay patience is a virtue right!!! So January comes and graduation in April 2010 comes even faster! I'm on the road right! WRONG! Primary doc says my iron levels are too low and I need a transfusion! Yikes! But I follow directions and now 6 weeks of iron transfusion that don't end till July 2010! Blood doc says your good, primary says your good, so I should be good RIGHT???? WRONG! my paperwork is lost in space for like a month and by time the surgeon gets my paperwork and sets up a consult it's October 2010! I go with Dr. Tananka in San Diego, he is the best ever BTW! And I go and it's all a breeze, yay! But then thy utter the dreaded words "we'll contact you with you surgery date" blah blah blah I get a letter a month later telling me CONGRATULATIONS your surgery date is scheduled for MARCH 8Th, 2011! OMFG right! So the moral of the story is "time flies while your waiting for the last piece of your life puzzle" AND "humor is the best way to trump the desire to go postal" :)
