Still here!

Jun 03, 2014

Hello those of you that are stopping by.  I am still enjoying my life and so glad I had the surgery even after all of my major issues.  Hang in there and continue to listen to your body.  Currently my iron is extremely low, but I have to up my iron intake to make sure I have energy to keep going in this life.

Be encouraged and know that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Happy New Year and 3 years out

Jan 02, 2014

Hello everyone.  I am officially 3 years out and I can't believe it has been this long for me.  I am out of what you call honeymoon stage (2 years post op).  I am maintaining my weight and love buying clothes and sharing clothes with my teenagers.  I am still losing weight, but hey that's a good thing.

I am so busy living life that I am not on here near as much as I used to be,  but be encouraged because you too will be the same way.  As always you can email me personally at [email protected] to ask me any questions.

Love you to life!

Almost a Year!!!!

Oct 22, 2013

Wow, tomorrow it will be exactly one year since I last posted.  I haven't gained too much weight.  I am still holding steady.  I usually add about 5lbs a month because of my cycle, but it goes away within a week.  I am loving the skin I am still in.  I can't believe that it is almost 3 years for me.  In the beginning I had buyers remorse, but as I persevered through it and came out on the side of healthy, I am loving it.

Be encouraged those of you that are seeking this new "weigh" of life.  Keep in my that you will never be the same again.  Believe it or not, food still gets stuck and drinking after I am done eating is a no no.  I am glad about that.  It keeps me disciplined.

If you have questions for me or just want to chat, you can email me directly at [email protected]!

Be Blessed!!

Happy New Year!

Jan 02, 2012

January 3 and I am down to 187lbs.  My one year surgiversary was 12/14/2010 and I have lost 161lbs.  Wow oh Wow!  I love reading the journals.  They keep me encouraged to continue this journey.  I am not interested in gaining any of the weight back.  It was a rough beginning, but one year later I am feeling my best and looking my best.  I set a goal of 170lbs, but my family says I am fading away:-).  I am just going to continue to lose the weight and focus on the foods that get me there.  Protein and vegetables is the way I keep it off,  So thankful for all that has been given to me.  It;s great to buy clothes off the regular clearance rack.  I was a 4x, but now I am an XL or large in some things.  It feels great!  Have a blessed morning and continue pressing!

It's been a long time!

Nov 04, 2011

Good Afternoon OH'ers.  A lot has happened since March 2011.  I was finally done with hospitals May 2011 and am completely healed now!  I am living a wonderful life now.  I am able to run around with my children and fit in airplane seats :-).  I started out if I can remember at 348lbs and now I am down to 204.5.  My goal is to be at 170, but my husband is asking me to "stop" because I am fading away .  One thing I have found during this journey is that marriages really don't last too long after the weight is off.  I beg to differ.  My husband and I are much closer and more in love today than we were 16 yrs ago.  He hung in there when I was really sick and he is hanging in there while I am shopping.  I was a size 26/28 almost in a 30 and now I am rocking a 14.  I bought a pair of shoes yesterday and they were an 8.5.  I was wearing a 10.  I have given all of my clothes away and started working on a new wardrobe.  It's not easy because I don't stay in any size too long.  I went from an 18 to a 14.  Totally missing the 16's.

Just wanted to say that life gets better.  I didn't think that it would, but I praise God that he brought me out without a doubt and I can praise him in the dance a little longer now that I am literally half of a person.

Have a wonderful day,

Roberta

WOW!!!!!

Mar 19, 2011

I had a wonderful oppurtunity to meet an OH member on last night and it just really blessed me beyond words.  Catonya....YOU ARE MY SISTER FOR LIFE!!!!!!!  Thank you for the words of encouragement and just showing me that there is light at the end of this tunnel.

I am getting better as the days progress.  I have two stents in my stomach now.  The good thing is I am no longer draining in my tube and the feeding tube feels like it's ready to come out.  I am so sick and tired of Ensure it's not even funny!  That is what I have been eating for the last three months.  So, it looks like I am finally at the end of this thing and on my way to really being on this weight loss journey.  I started at 348 lbs and I am now 283 from Dec. 2010.  That is a dramatic drop.  I don't have "back fat" anymore.  It's funny, I was wearing a 4x and now I am wearing a 2x.  My face is so much smaller.  Yesterday was the first time since December that I put on makeup.  My children were blown away and my husband just stared at me.  So, I figured....going forward I will continue to fix myself up and stop being lazy about it.  God bless each of you that took the time to pray for me.  It was much needed.  I didn't know if I was going to make it through this tough time.  But the Lord is forever Faithful to those that walk in obedience to His will and not their own.

Kingdom Blessings and Dominion Power!

Taking it one day at a time

Jan 27, 2011

I am taking it one day at a time.  I have a follow up appt with Dr. Chasen on Feb 10th and I know the Lord has healed me completely.  I am feeling much more stronger than what I have been feeling and just thank God for all of the support I have been receiving from OH and my family/friends.  My journey may have started it a little late, but it's not how you start, it's how you finish.  Have a wonderful evening and God bless.

On my way to a thinner me!!!!!!

Today is a good day

Jan 24, 2011

Today is a good day.  I have more strength today than I have had in the last few weeks.  It feels good to be able to get up and move around without having to sit down because I am so tired.  I am still on the feeding tube and I have accepted that I am on it for just a few weeks according to Dr. Chasen.  I know it's going to be all right.  I know that better days are ahead.  It doesn't seem that way now, but I can not look at what I see, but look at what I know and that is I am going to be all right!!!!!!  I have received so many words of encouragement from the OH readers and I truly appreciate it.  You guys really rock.  I don't like taking pictures, but I know I am going to have to so that I can see the progress myself and I believe that will also encourage me.  Have a wonderful my dear friends and I thank you for listening.

Buyers Remorse

Jan 22, 2011

I had my surgery on 12/14/2010 and I am so unhappy,  Everything was going just fine until I got sick and was unable to eat or drink anything.  I ended up in the emergency room twice and on the second time they found that I had a leak.  I spent 12/29-1/7 in the hospital.  I was so miserable.   They had to do an emergency surgery on me to repair the leak.  Well, I found out I had another leak in the same area.  Can you say buyers remorse??????  I haven't had anything to eat or drink since 12/12/10.  I am so miserable right now.  I prayed and prayed and researched and researched and now, I am at home with a feeding tube and unable to put anything in my mouth until either 1. the leak heals itself, 2. they put a stent in the sleeve, or 3. they convert to a gastric bypass.  I do not want to have another surgery, so option 3 is just not for me.  I have lost 36lbs in one month.  The weight isn't even important to me anymore.  I just want to feel better.
