My story sounds the same as so many people on this forum. I was a "normal" size until the birth of my son, and then dieted my way up to morbid obesity. After 35 years of that (non)losing game, I was depressed and had given up. I had changed jobs in hopes of having insurance that would cover the surgery, and found out that it wouldn't after all. I finally bit the bullet and took out a loan and financed it myself. I am so happy I did - I now have the power to control what and how much I eat. This is definitely not the easy way, but it is so much better than dieting where I had no help in controlling my intake. I am glad I finally did this - wish I had done it 30 years ago - and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to all on this forum for the support and answers to questions.
