Well I'm gonna quicly do this.

I'm 25 years old, and I have been overweight since I was approx 6 years old. I have been at my heighest weight(350-360 lbs) twice in life, once 5 years ago and then just before surgery. About 4 years ago, I was working at the Ottawa airport and winter came, I began working 105 hours a week, and lost 100-120 lbs. I could not have been prouder, I felt GREAT! I looked good in clothes and more importantly I felt like I was ready to fall in love and that's when Tim and I found each other at work.... Yes we worked together in fact I was his boss.

Not long after that I quit that job moved to Calgary (biggest mistake of my life) and 3 months later moved back, due to stress and celebrating my being home, I gained the weight back and quickly. When I lost the weight I did it by not eating and working way to much, so I didn't learn anything making it even easier to re-gain.

On Christmas eve 2007 I got a migrain, it would not leave, I saw an edocrynologist in June of 2008, she told me A - my migraine was due to the fact that I was Severly Obese and it was causing my liver to go crazy and cause the migraines and B- I needed Bypass. I was devastated, I knew that I was overweight but SURGERY really?!?!? I told her I would look into it and think about it and get back to her. I made an appointment for two weeks later and after 2 weeks of pure RESEARCH, I went back and said yes I would do it, even though she could not garentee that it would get rid of my migraine.

My referal was sent in, to have surgery in the States, in August 2008, and two weeks later I got a letter from OHIP saying no to the States. That I needed to meet with the weight clinic here in Ottawa. So I waited, until January of 2009 to meet the WMC, she told me I was a good candidate, and that I should chose to have surgery here in Ottawa because there wait time was faster then the States so I agreed (Second biggest mistake in my life). I waited until December 2009 for Orientation, if you are wondering YES I still had the migraine.

In the next few months, coping with the idea that I needed surgery to lose weight, and trying to deal with other issues, I became agoraphobic, stoped working and refused to leave the house. I would not leave the house unless accompanied by Tim or my mom, and also anxiety meds.

I waited another year and half until I had surgery on June 29th 2011. Now you think that it would have gotten easier for me, but it didn't. A week after my surgery 3 days after I was released from the hospital my Grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer's, had a severe stroke and was in the same hospital I was released from. She could not open her eyes, she could not eat, or drink nor could she speak. We were told it would be a day or two that it was time to say goodbye... My Grandmother being the strongest person in the world held on for a week, and then finally past away. 2-3 days later was her funeral and 3 days after trying to be strong for everyone my body reminded me that I had, had just had MAJOR surgery, I got a REALLy sharp pain in my side and ended up in the hospital, for 4 days. They think due to sludgy bile.

So now I'm 2.5(ish) months out and I'm down 64lbs and I have hard days I miss my grandma, I wanted her at my wedding so bad. It still makes me tear up when I think about it. I miss her voice and hearing her tell me I'm so beautiful, all the time. I'm trucking along and doing my darndest to lose as much weight as possible knowing she is watching over me, and helping me.

I don't regret my decision EVER not for one second, not one milli-second. I feel great and yes it's hard work and yes I wish sometimes that I could eat the foods that I used to. I keep in mind that no craving and no food is worth my health and future

Wish me luck on my journey, I wish you luck on yours!
