Wow it's been a long time

Jun 28, 2013

Wow it's been a long time since I've been here. Needless to say, I had to get the band taken out and now doing the gastric sleeve. I just got approved last week and I see my surgeon on Monday to get my surgery date. I really hope I have a better outcome with the sleeve. I can't believe how much I've let myself go since I had the band removed. I have gained about 50 some pounds in the last few months and this is the biggest I've ever been. I started my liquid diet today and it's not been too bad. I had 2 protein shakes and a meal (That's what my Dr suggests until time for surgery). 48 hours before surgery I will be on all liquids. I'd love to hear from people that have had the revision to the sleeve and how the band and sleeve are different. I know I have to still be careful not to take in a lot of carbs, etc. but at least I wont have all the throwing up and reflux like I did with the band. There towards the end of removal, I was doing everything right but couldn't stop throwing up. It was miserable! I was filled, unfilled, filled again, unfilled again and the list goes on and on. I'm just excited to be approved for the sleeve and ready to start my new journey. May God bless you all!

trying to get back on track

Jan 11, 2010

I got another fill today so I'm now at 7cc's. I have been eating anything I want and eating as much sugar as my body can hold in the last few months.. That's how I've gained sooo much weight. It's been sooo hard today getting back to the basics but maybe this fill will get me back on track. I'm sitting here gaggin over a protein drink that I use to love so that tells me that I've got a lot of changing to do.  Lord please be with me is all I can say or I'm never going to make it through the next 2 days. My doctor requires you stay on liquids for 2 days after fill...

depressed

Jan 07, 2010

I finally got weighed today and I've gained 25 pounds just in the last few months.  How in the world can you have surgery and gain that much weight so fast??? This is so depressing. I go back for another fill on Monday. I hope this help me and it doesn't make me too tight.

wow

Jan 05, 2010

Wow how time has went by...It's been a very long time since I've been on OH but I'm back and ready to get started. I had my banding surgery in Feb. 2009 and done great at first. I lost 17 pounds my first week and was so excited. Since then I have let myself go and gained everything back and even more :(  so depressing to say the least. I have finally decided to give it one more try before I throw in the towel. I AM going to do what I'm suppose to and see what happens. I got my protein powder in and I'm ready to get back on the ball.. Anyone with comments and pointers please send me a message. I need all the motivation I can get. I hope I can post some weight loss in the near future :)

May 06, 2008

I went for my first visit today at King's Daughters and was able to see the Nurse, Dietitican and I got my Psych Eval out of the way... I was very impressed with his staff. They were very nice and informative.  I should have an appt to meet with Dr. Wheeler in about 10 days or so.. I am very excited to meet him... I hope he is as nice as everyone says :)
