Wow it's been a long time
Jun 28, 2013
Wow it's been a long time since I've been here. Needless to say, I had to get the band taken out and now doing the gastric sleeve. I just got approved last week and I see my surgeon on Monday to get my surgery date. I really hope I have a better outcome with the sleeve. I can't believe how much I've let myself go since I had the band removed. I have gained about 50 some pounds in the last few months and this is the biggest I've ever been. I started my liquid diet today and it's not been too bad. I had 2 protein shakes and a meal (That's what my Dr suggests until time for surgery). 48 hours before surgery I will be on all liquids. I'd love to hear from people that have had the revision to the sleeve and how the band and sleeve are different. I know I have to still be careful not to take in a lot of carbs, etc. but at least I wont have all the throwing up and reflux like I did with the band. There towards the end of removal, I was doing everything right but couldn't stop throwing up. It was miserable! I was filled, unfilled, filled again, unfilled again and the list goes on and on. I'm just excited to be approved for the sleeve and ready to start my new journey. May God bless you all!

My 1st visit at Dr. Wheeler's Office
May 06, 2008
I went for my first visit today at King's Daughters and was able to see the Nurse, Dietitican and I got my Psych Eval out of the way... I was very impressed with his staff. They were very nice and informative. I should have an appt to meet with Dr. Wheeler in about 10 days or so.. I am very excited to meet him... I hope he is as nice as everyone says :)
