At a Stall

May 22, 2013

I guess I need more education with this surgery,or just stop tripping, because it seems as if at first I was losing weight and now I' m losing inches. I feel at times    I' m stretching my stomach out because I'm eating more...am I suppose to eat more than I was before. I' m probably eating about 5 oz, but then again I throw up about half of it when I do.

I go to the gym, but I sit there and yawn  half the time when I' m there. Maybe I need to stop comparing myself to others and thank God for the weight lost I've achieved already. I' m down three dress sizes and have lost 40+ pounds already since February 25 the day of my surgery....but I had that crazy PICC line in me for a month until April 3 when it was removed.

Ive lost my taste for coffee

Apr 12, 2013

Before my surgery I would drink coffee everyday. My kitchen had its own corner filled with coffee, syrups and sugars. My Keurig now sits alone in the corner cause now my taste for coffee isnt as strong as it use to be Im lucky if I can finish a half of cup. Whats wrong with this picture? Does anyone else have this problem.

Hooray

Apr 04, 2013

I got my PICC line removed yesterday. Im proud to say food and water is staying down with no throwing up. angry I enrolled in a gym yesterday and finally did a total workout on the treadmill, the bike and weights. Im down 3 lbs from yesterday and Im scheduled to see my trainer on tomorrow and I know he's gonna kick my butt in a workout, but Im up for it.

To tell you the truth YES at first I did regret having this surgery with all the problems I was having, but now I thank God for patience. As told to me by my doctor he said," Im gonna do well with this surgery and be that model patient" and I believe that I will be he's poster girl for this type of surgery. Thank God for my journey.

Thank U God

Mar 27, 2013

Thank God for a recovery and for everyone's prayers. Im doing better, on Saturday I was able to hold down Hummus and up until now I've been able to eat meals and drink water...even though they are small, but I'm not throwing it up. My doctor has given me the green light to exercise so on tomorrow morning Im hitting the floor and working out. And if everything goes well I'll have this PICC line removed next week.

Thank God for little Miracles

Mar 15, 2013

This has been a stressful two weeks, but I can report that I've naturally pass a little bowel movement finally after two and a half weeks. Now how is possible cause I haven't been able to hold down any food or water. But because of you guys prayers, I know God is working on my behalf. Do I regret this surgery still???? Well not as much as I did two weeks ago. Now I'm just waiting on my healing from this vomiting and nausea and to be removed from this IV before Easter.

Im Back home Again

Mar 13, 2013

Ok I'm back home. On last week (Tuesday) I went to my follow up appointment I was so weak, nauseated, and vomiting that my Doctor admitted me back into the hospital. I didn't plan to be admitted I just thought I would get hooked up to another IV, like I did on Monday, March 4th. Well I was in pretty bad shape and my doctor said I would be in the hospital for about a month. I didn't want that so after a week of me being in the hospital he decided to send me home with a pick line, and an In- Home Nurse for about a month. But I'm praying it won't be that long. I can't hold anything down. Pray for me I'm so frustrated. and weak.

I feel I made a wrong mistake

Mar 01, 2013

Oh boy Im not understanding this nausea devil I've been feeling this way since I woke from my surgery. I know this will pass but I don't wanna end up in the hospital for dehydration. My doctor office bedside manner sucks. Now I've had my share of surgeries in my life , but I have been at home now for two day and his office staff hasn't once considered to call and see how I'm doing. Heck the nurse should have told him all I was doing while in the hospital was vomiting, but I guess I'm just a big baby. My surgery was 5 hours long, and I haven't felt my best. I wish I could have made another choice with this type of surgery. No one told me that this is the crappies you'd ever feel. Well I'm not gonna color coat it....IT SUCKS and no I wouldn't do this again, regardless to what others may say. Im make sure I keep this weight off, cause there is no way I need this feeling again. I do get some relief when I sit up right, but hell smh. Pray for melaugh

What To Pack for the Hospital

Feb 23, 2013

  1. Loose fitting clothes for the ride home (You may be a little swollen!)
  2. A pillow (To put over your stomach so that you can put your seat belt on after surgery, to place over your stomach when you need to cough)
  3. ChapStick
  4. Front zip sports bra
  5. A list of your medicines
  6. Open back Slippers (non-slip)
  7. iPod with headphones (or something to listen to during your recovery)
  8. A loose house robe to go around your hospital gown
  9. A good book
  10. Lotion
  11. Water bottle for the ride home
  12. Personal toiletries-toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, lotion, hairbrush, make-up and deodorant
  13. Earplugs (In case your roomie snores!)
  14. Insurance card
  15. Biotene mouth spray (For dry mouth)
  16. Cell phone and charger
  17. Gas-X
  18. Baby wipes (you will be going to the bathroom ALOT, it will prevent chaffing)
  19. Hair band
  20. A camera to take before pictures
  21. Extra underwear
  22. CPAP machine if you use one
  23. Reading glasses or prescription glasses
  24. Favorite photos that will comfort you
  25. Laptop or E-reader device

Of all the items in the list above, ChapStick is a must according to many WLS post-ops. You should leave your jewelery and other expensive items at home. Bringing a Laptop, iPod, and other electronics is usually not encouraged and many post-ops have commented that they were too sleepy and too busy walking to want to read, check email, and do other activities that don’t involve personal care.

Day One of Two of My Liquid Diet

Feb 22, 2013

I hear of the dreaded post of friends who say they are on a two week liquid dietcool...I don't know how you guys do it. I'm on day one and doing great, for some strange reason the nurse told me not to have red Jell-o??? I didn't think to ask her why, but guess what I seem to have bought when I got all the stuff for my liquid diet..RED Jell-O. So just when I was getting pissed off because I didn't have any other kinds of Jell-O,  I seem to find a box of Sugar Free peach Jell-o that had been in my cabinet for god knows how long it had been in there , but thank God anyways.

As for my nerves, the other day they were way out of wack. I've never threw up to the point of gagging.devil

I'm gonna have to listen to my OH friend and turn my phone off until Monday or just only answer it to people who I know will be positive when they call.

Pray for me because between my doctors office with his staff and the staff I encountered on yesterday at the hospital I feel I'm gonna catch a case and go off on somebody
