Good morning everyone, I just spoke to Charlene's nurse and she said that Charlene was still in alot of pain and that they were making her as comfortable as possible. They will be getting her up out of bed sometime today. I pray for a speedy recovery for her. I won't be able to visit her today because I have to go help my 87 year old great-great aunt with some things around the house but I will be back tomorrow to visit Charlene. I will post another update tomorrow, late afternoon. I see these times on here are 3 hours behind my time. Also, Charlene's sister will be with her today. Talk to you all later. If anyone wants to email me privately and send messages to Charlene, I will be more than happy to print them out and bring them to her tomorrow. My email address is [email protected].

Charlene, I am sooooo proud of you! You know the old saying "no pain, no gain,"? Who needs pain anyway? lol. I really pray that you find comfort and that God will give you strength. Hang in there, it will all be worth it and soon, you won't even remember it when you are looking real sexy, girlfriend!

Hello everyone, Charlene's surgery went well but she is in alot of pain. I was able to see her in the recovery room for about 5 minutes. They wouldn't let me stay. She was in tears from the pain. I was told that she would not be in her room until about 6:00p.m. and that I could call the recovery area to see how she was doing so I will post more tonight after I talk to her nurse. Charlene is safely on the "other side". Glendora(Charlene's Angel)

Charlene, thank you for your email card. That was so thoughtful! I had my surgery on Monday, 7/17/00. I'm doing good. Dr. Wongsa was wonderful. The sugery went fine. I got to go home Thursday. Yes, it is painful. But, the good news is that it is only painful the first 2 days or so. Now, I feel fine. I'm tired and feel weak, but I think that's normal. My surgery lasted 4 hours and 10 minutes. The nurses at Cy-Fair Hospital are WONDERFUL! I highly recommend that hospital. Overall, my experience was good. I've only lost 4 pounds so far. It is difficult learning to eat again. You can only have 1/2 ounce of liquid at a time. It's a weird experience that I'm still adjusting to. That's really all I can say about it so far, I'm still kind of in a "fog." I guess that's from the anestestia. I go back to the doctor tomorrow to get my staples removed. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Let me know how you are doing!
