3rd fill

Mar 25, 2010

I had my 3 month postop visit today - a nearly 3 hour ordeal, once all was said and done! Started out as a "group" session with 2 others, then we did a group meeting with the dietitian, then broke away to see a medical provider. I had no clue that I'd be getting a fill today, but I did...up another cc to 5.4. I sipped my water before I left, but once I got back to work I felt WEIRD. Nauseous, and shaky, and my body hurt like I'd overdone it on exercise. This all came on so suddenly! So, I left work, came home and slept for 4 hours, but unfortunately there's been no improvement in how I feel. I'm hoping that by tomorrow morning it will have resolved itself; if not, guess I'll be calling my surg's ofc..

So...

Feb 21, 2010

...I didn't quite make my revised v-day goal, but that's ok because I still exceeded my original goal! :)

Just signed up for a new challenge today, hoping to lose 20.7 in the next 6 weeks. Once I've reached that goal, I will officially be halfway to my goal of 200lbs! Can't wait!!!!

Back to it!!!

Feb 02, 2010

Alright, I've been slacking this past week. Not just in my exercise (read as: none!) but with my eating (read as: too much/not the best choices). I'm only down .4lb in a week, that's the smallest loss I've had since I started this journey 2 months ago. Finally got back on the wagon tonight, did the usual 3 mile walk with my friend. We didn't walk as fast as we usually do because we had her kids with us but I figure it's better than nothing.

I also realized it's time to get down to the serious exercise. A week ago I was given the green light to do any/all exercising, as long as it didn't hurt (well duh!). All this time I was looking forward to working on my stomach, then the time came and I...oh look, a butterfly! Distractions everywhere. It's time to reel myself in, and get serious. Time to work on my whole body, especially my stomach, and definitely using weights with my arms because they're already disgusting.

The good news is that I've already met/exceeded my Valentine's Day goal of 300, so my revised goal is to be down to 290 by 2/14 - that's 7.6 lbs in 12 days. I CAN DO IT!!!!! :)

TWORIFFIC!!!!

Jan 23, 2010

I finally, finally, FINALLY made it to the 200s!!!!!!  I honestly don't know the last time I consciously weighed 2-something. Maybe never? Because the scale wasn't a part of my life until recently.

Anyways, YAAAAAY!!!!! 3 more lbs and I'll have lost 50. WOW...

1st preop appt - 1/6/10

Jan 06, 2010

Here I am, 3 1/2 weeks after surgery, and I just had my first followup appointment today. I've been on only liquids/protein shakes ever since my surgery, so I was excited for this day to come because I knew I'd be given the green light for soft foods!!!

It was a great visit. Not only did I graduate to softies, but the clinic scale (aka official!) showed me weighing over 1lb less than mine showed. SCORE!! Total gone since surgery: 25.7. Total gone since preop started (11/28): 35.7. The 50lbs benchmark is just around the corner, as is my first major goal of 300lbs, then 299. I'm only 9.3 away from 300, it's so close I can "taste" it!!! And only another pound after that away from "tworiffic"! I can't begine to imagine when was the last time I weighed in the 200s. Once 299 hits my loss goal becomes double digits - I want to get down to 200. I realize this will still be obese or overweight but I'm not trying to be skinny, I'm trying to be thick & healthy ;)

Anyways, they seemed impressed with my weight loss, as am I, obviously! Another added bonus - my blood pressure was 127/81! That's NORMAL! OMG, it's been forever for that too...

As soon as my appointment was over I went & bought cottage cheese and a little piece of cheese. I went back to work, dished up my cc in my 3oz dish, took a bite...and was disappointed. It wasn't very good at all. Neither was the piece of cheese. Ok, it's not the end of the world, right? Right! So I hit the grocery store after I got off work to stock up on things I could now eat. Came home, surveyed the situation & decided on refried beans for dinner. YUM!!!!!!!! Those were really good. I even put a little pinch of ff shredded cheddar on top, and made sure that I not only ate with one of my baby spoons but put the spoon down in between each bite. I was kind of afraid to eat today, because it'd been so long and I was afraid I'd be on autopilot, that old habits would just come right back, but I managed to stay focused the entire time.

WOO HOO!!!!!! I'm kickin ass and takin names!!!! :)
