Stages

Jan 10, 2010

So, I have figured out that the only way for me to get through this process without going completely insane is to try and understand it more.  I think the reason most of us freak out so much when we hit a stall is because this is new to us.  When you think of gastric bypass or even hear about someone having it, no one ever mentions going through stalls.  All you hear about is the dramatic amount of weight that has been lost.  You see before and after pictures and think, "Wow, I want that to happen to me."  No one ever talks about going two, three, or four weeks with no significant weight loss or even weight gain for that matter.  So, I decided to think of the weight loss in stages:

Stage One:  Extremely Obese to Obese

Stage Two:   Obese to Overweight

Stage Three:  Overweight to Normal

Right now, I am in Stage Two and it took me a long time to graduate to this stage so I'm going to relish in it and make the best of it.

Next up, Stage Three!!  Hopefully it won't be long before I get there!  Good luck everybody!
