Nov 29, 2010

Of course I knew it would be it's nice to see.  Keeps me motivated!  I stared my sugar free, clear liquid diet on Saturday and it morning 4 and I'm down 6 pounds! Hurrah!  Want to make sure that my liver is a good size for surgery.

revision in the near future.

Oct 20, 2010

So I saw my surgeon today and he said definitely yes that I should revise.  He believes that the sleeve is the way to go for me but ultimately it's my decision.  He said since I only have about 100 pounds to lose that that's what he would recommend.  So, I've scheduled my appointment with the internest and I have to do another psych eval for the insurance.  Having an EGD on Monday to see what's going on in my esophagus.  Wish me luck!

revision or not?

Oct 17, 2010

Hi,

I'm a 41 year female who had lap band surgery in June of 07. At first I had pretty good success with the band but then it stopped.  I would work out 1.5 hours a day and still could never get to goal.  I only lost about 65 pounds with the band.  I've had quite a few problems with regurgitating food and pain.  When I recently had a Barium swallow test done the radiologist remarked that I have hardly any restriction.  Yet, if I have more I cant keep anything down.  Very frustrating.  To make it worse they told me that I have an esophagus condition that makes it want to spasm when I eat or drink anything.  I'm wondering if that might be part of the problem.  I've got an appointment with my surgeon at the end of this month to discuss my options.  I chose the band because compared to others it is minimally invasive but I'm wondering if I made the right choice.  Do I do a revision?  I'm really confused right now and would appreicate any advice that you all might like to offer.

thanks for listening.
