"Thoughts" and ramblings ...

Apr 19, 2011

On Friday I head back to Augusta for what will be considered my 2 weeks post op visit.

WOW what a crazy week and it's only Wednesday!

I've had a few days where my energy has just been drained from me. Yep, I know I am still healing but I find it hard to sit still for any length of time. The 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery, I thought was hard. However, this week and a half after surgery has been rough. I am extremely tired of liquids and thicker liquids I could scream! I am really picky when it comes to the foods I like and what I don't like. I can't seem to bring myself to eat cottage cheese. Which I know would give me a different taste. I don't like custards. Every yogurt I have found has to much sugar in it - Anyone suggest a brand that is low in sugar? I mean seriously, it either has low fat and high sugar or low sugar and high in fat - Isn't yogurt suppose to be good for ya ? LOL Or maybe I am just confused still as far as labels go LOL

My today, tomorrow and beyond booklet tells me that I can have mashed potatoes - Seems to me that old saying " If it's white don't take a bite" theory is blown outta the water there since a potatoe is WHITE! However, I have had a bite or 2 of some. LOL

I can tell I have lost some more weight ~~ yay ~~ but I am still bloated and swelling around the incisions a little ( of course having 7 incisions ). It will take time to heal. But I do look like my stomach has been beaten with a baseball bat LOL I am so bruised. I had one of the incisions start to bleed yesterday from under the steri-strips but all is ok.

I do not own scales so I wait until I go to the doctor to find out how much I have lost. I guess I will eventually get me some scales but for now - I will enjoy the surprise :)

I have started doing my resistance bands again for arm exercises and I have been walking, walking, walking. Today, I am going to venture up the driveway or try to LOL it's somewhat of a hill but I will take my time and walk as far as I can.

I so need a "Weekend" away LOL my kids are driving me insane! My oldest son is now done with Job Corps and is home. My youngest son has a few more weeks before summer break - I am simply not use to having both of them home after a year and a half of only have 1 in the house! Can't wait for summer to get here, since we live on the lake - they will be on the water all summer :)

Ah well, I guess that is about it from me for now.
