April 28, 2007: It has been a year since I started with the doctors on having my gastric bypass surgery, and I finally have a date. I thought it would never happen. The doctors kept making me come back every six weeks. My date is May 15 ,2007. My insurance approved me in 2 days. The insurance part was the quickest part of the whole process.
May 1, 2007: today I went to have my pre- addmission test. They took blood and I had an EKG done. Everything went well. They also told me what was going to happen when I arrived at the hospital the day of my surgery. My weight a year ago was 285, and today it was 264 so, so far I have lost 21 pounds. Two weeks to go for my surgery. Now I will be starting my pre- opt diet.
May 5, 2007: Today has only been 4 days since I have had to do my liquid diet, and I am starving to death. I am so hungry. I cant believe they want me to do this for two weeks before surgery. I still have my regular stomach. This is the hardest part to do. I have lost 6 pounds though.
May 14, 2007: This is the day before surgery. I have loss another 10 pounds. I am very scared of the surgery, but I am also excited. The next time I write again I will be on the other side.
October 13, 2007: It has been awhile since I wrote anything. Well I'm doing awesum!!! I have lost a total of 100 pounds. I finally hit the 100 pound mark. It has been 5 months since my surgery ( oct 15 ). I have so much energy and I am sleeping good. Shopping is so much fun now. I can shop in the misses section . No more plus sizes!! I started as a size 24 and now I am a 14, and a large. I'm not really keeping track on how much I am losing each week, I just get on the scale everyday. Probably about 3 to 5 pounds a week. I am so glad I had the surgery done. It is the best thing I ever did for myself.
November 25,2007: It has been 6 months since my surgery and I have lost 114 pounds. I feel incredible!!! I am a size 12 pants and a small shirt. I am losing between 2 and 5 pounds a week. My hair is no longer falling out. It wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. Everything is so much better then I thought. It was my first thanksgiving since my surgery, and it was a little tough, but I made it through, and thin is some much better then filling my face. I am so happy with the way I look and i have a high self esteem now. Best thing I ever did.
