One Year Anniversary!

Oh my gosh! One year already...time does fly! I've lost a total of 80 lbs. since surgery on 2/7/08! I feel the best I've EVER felt and am looking forward to losing an additional 40 lbs. this year! My husband is getting ready to have the gastric bypass as well and we're going to work out together and be partners for his journey. I can't wait! I want to experience everything with him and see the look on his face when the pounds start melting away! This was the BEST decision I've made for myself and I have had such a wonderful experience with WLS and the benefits are more than I could have ever imagined...

7-MONTHS POST-OP!

I FINALLY made it to the 100's (ONEderland)! It's amazing... I haven't been in the 100's in about 20 years so this is quite an accomplishment for me. I've now met one of my first goals I set for myself and I'm so proud to be here!
I still feel greater than I've EVER felt. I can't get over the transformation and I have a new zest for life that I've never had before. I just want to get up and GO now and I've never had this kind of energy! It's such a great feeling to be this ALIVE! We're planning for my hubby to get the same surgery next year and I CAN'T WAIT till he has it! It's going to be even more amazing watching him as he goes through the same feelings/emotions, etc., that I have over these last several months. Again, NO REGRETS!!!

5 Months Post-Op!

Five months post-op....wow! Doesn't seem that long ago. Well, I'm down 64 lbs. at this point and still feeling better than ever. No real problems to speak of. I can really tell a difference now, especially when I look at my picture...it's amazing. I'm so glad I did this!

A little late in posting.... I'm 3 months out and have lost 51 lbs.! I feel GREAT! I'm starting to notice a difference now in my appearance and clothing. I've purchased some new clothes in smaller sizes which is a wonderful thing! I will try to get some more recent pictures up soon...

I'm two months post-op today! Can't believe it, the time has flown by! I've lost a total of 35 pounds at this time and I am so excited about it! I think it's coming off at a good pace and I feel absolutely terrific, too! I've got a lot more energy already, that's for sure! I am definitely enjoying this ride...

I'm one month post-op now... this is exciting! Went to the doc for follow-up last Friday and have lost 27 lbs. so far! I'm feeling good and eating healthy. Still no regrets!

Well.... surgery went well. I had a little trouble with bleeding and was in recovery for a while but the issue resolved itself and I was fine after that.
Went for my follow-up yesterday and I've already lost 20 lbs.! I was SHOCKED to say the least....but very excited.
I'll admit the liquid diet sucks, BUT, there IS a light at the end of this tunnel and I WILL eat regular, healthy food again! So if you are going to have this surgery or have just recently had it, don't lose hope! It's frustrating but it is also necessary as we are taking baby steps back to real food again... and learning portion control at the same time.
