Good bye 300's!

Mar 18, 2015

Today I reached a big goal, getting under 300 pounds.  I can't remember the last time I was under that number.  Its a big accomplishment for me.  I do remember saying "never again" before but this time I know it will be the truth.  Never again!  I have tried to follow my plan and begin an exercise program which I have been able to do.  Granted it is not training for a marathon, or great cardio, but it is a start.  I don't want to be 20 again, I just want to be comfortable in my skin and healthy at this stage of my life.  Pleasingly plump would not be a disappointment to me.  I will keep working my plan, followed the excellent advice of Dr Woods and his staff and make the most of this journey.

On my way!

Oct 23, 2014

I attended an WLS seminar as a guest in September, 2014.  I left with the packet of information and couldn't wait to get it filled out and mailed in.  I gathered all the necessary information and returned the information within 2 days.  ( A little excited).  I received a call 2 weeks later saying my insurance would pay, I have Medicare, and set the date of my first appointment with the surgeon and also with the nutritionist for the same afternoon.  Those appointments were today!  Loved the surgeon, he was the same one who presented the seminar so I felt like I knew him.  He is a real cheerleader for the sleeve surgery and very positive about the good that can come from using this wonderful tool to lose the pounds that I have carried around much too long.

So his plan is to see the psychologist as soon as the Nut.... (I got that abbreviation from these boards) faxes over her findings from today.  Then they set up the appointment.  Once I see the psychologist... (need an abbreviation for that one),  then I see the Nut and the Surgeon and get my surgery date.  He said it very likely could be November.  Whoot Whoot!!!
