Wooo hoooo Darice! Today's your day. You are in my prayers for a safe surgery and a rapid recovery. You are at the start of a most amazing journey. No doubt, you'll have a couple of days of thinking what the heck did I do to myself?, but I think you'll find this is one of the best things to ever happen to you. God bless you and watch over you. Hi Darice. God Bless You for a wonderful outcome during surgery. No matter what people tell you, your own experience will of course be unique to just you. You have a great guy along side of you that is behind you 100% and that will help tremendously in this journey. You might experience a feeling of regret for doing this , but trust me it does not last. Not all people do experience this feeling either. The first few weeks are overwhelming, not necessarily because of pain (I had none ) but because you are trying to make sure that you get all of your nutrients and you just want to "Do it right." But it will become second nature to you. My advice to you after you are on the mend is to wake up every morning and verbalize (or write) how grateful you are for even the smallest of differences in your physical being. That is the main thing that keeps me walking and exercising everyday. I thank God for my two good legs and acknowledge how they used to feel and just go on my way. Oh, yes, Darice. Stay off the scale! Best Wishes.

hey hon!!! idk if you've already gone in for your surgery or not but i just got in to work and read your message and wanted to share my "tip" with you. when i got home from my surgery i had NO IDEA that my abdomen would swell up SO MUCH!!! i had brought a pair of pajama pants with me that were REALLY baggy beforehand and then 2 days after my rny (from the iv fluids AND the gas AND the swelling) they were WAAYYY too tight! so... my suggestion is to make sure that you either have some REALLY BIG COMFY PANTS or else some really big (tent-like) sleep shirts for the first week-ish after surgery. other than that... sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk ;~P good luck to you hon!!! i'm sure you'll do fabulously!!!

Think positive, soon you will be able to take long walks with Kenny. You will be able to enjoy your life to the fullest. What kept me going was knowing that Sergio is going to have his mom for a long time. You my dear think that you have people that loves you and care for you. You are a wonderful and strong woman and soon you will loose those lbs but the kindness, good hearted and caring Darice will always be there. Good luck and even though I'm far away, please know that my heart is next to you.

Wishing you well on your surgery tomorrow. The thing that made me get through it all was to always think positive. Each day will get better. Attend support groups, they will keep you on track long term.
