A Moment to Reflect.....

Dec 15, 2008

It's December 16th and I have a lot to be thankful for.....This past weekend, I graduated with my BS in Criminal Justice.  My sons and their wives came to share in my special day.  After the ceremony, we went to visit my Mom who is in a resthome.  When she saw the kids, she had this big "pie eating" smile on her face.  It was priceless. She knew them if she didn't respond to anybody else, she knew those kids.  I  showed her my daughter-in-law's tummy and told her I was going to be a grandma and she just laughed.  But then I told her...that means you're going to be a great-grandma....for some reason the smile went away for a second!  I guess she thought about that.   Then on Sunday, I had to give a speech for the womens' ministry I belong to, about "Where Jesus leads me".   I didn't tell my family because I wanted to surprise them.  I don't talk in front of people, but I got the courage somehow to do it.  I cried through half of it because I just thought about how good God has been to me, and the tears were rolling and I couldn't stop!   My husband Mark had his surgery yesterday, and I was with him all day and night.  He is fine except he doesn't like how the gas inside him is a discomfort.  I told him it will pass soon, and when it does.....WOOOOO!!!!  Every step you take with be lethal!!!!    He's being released tomorrow and I will be there because I'm staying in his room today when the kids leave to go back to Seattle.  It's my sons time to re-enlist and they're going to come to Ft Jackson to be close to us.
