July 6th Came and Went

I am happy, but I can't believe it's over.. I finally had the surgery. All of the doctor's and nurses and at Deaconess Hospital were great. I loved the anesthesiologist the most.. all I remember was telling him how my 4th of July went and the next thing I knew the nurse said.. it's all over.

When I finally came to, the only issues I had was an uncomfortable feeling across my upper back and the nurse indicated that it was gas. I have been walking to alleviate the gas pains, but for some reason the ice pack works better. The surgery site doesn't bother me as much as my upper back. I have had to take my pain medicine every 4 hours on the dot.

I had my procedure done at the surgery center.. I was there from 9:30-2:30 pm. The surgery started at 10:30 on the dot and I had to arrive 1 hour earlier.

Day 2: Today I have been able to get in most of my liquids and some protein (beneprotein) mixed in with my broth.
